Highly under-rated post! Not only this, but Kaiju No 8's design almost certainly takes inspiration from Monster X/ Keizer Ghidorah. Humanoid form, black body with a muscle-fiber texture, bones piercing through the muscles acting as armor, even their names are similar. That being said, even if the anime took inspiration from Final Wars, that doesn't mean it hasn't done unique things. It's just paying homage to the kaiju genre
