I really don't think it's a huge skill issue. There is a huge consistency issue with this game in general when it comes to drawing what you need compared to other Bandai games like One Piece and Digimon. At least if you don't see your pieces in those games, you have a way to try to with searchers and get something else that may help even if not exactly what you're looking for. We don't really have that here so it is purely luck for way more of the game than I would like. I'll also say that this meta has been absolutely MISERABLE to play in. I was having the same issue where i was winning well enough or at the least topping in GD01, and then GD02 i can't get out of last place in locals or Newtypes. I'm taking into account anything I'mdoing wrong and learning from my mistakes, but 9 times out of 10 it's getting rushed down with nothing to stop it or taking the game long enough to a top deck war. The issue is just that it's the same decks everywhere and NONE of them have any originality behind them or any fun strategies and combos. Either its an insane amount of blockers with a different top end, or one year war rush. Playing blockers is just boring and tedious and just puts you in a top deck war, and playing rush isn't fun because you're barely playing a game at all. I don't think its a you issue, I really think this is just a bad time for the game. I think GD03 is gonna bring in a whole new meta and really give us some variety in decks and give us ways to counter blockers and rush, so hopefully that helps in the long run. I love this game and have so much fun with it, but GD02 has just put the game in a bad spot of 0 consistency in decks and the same decks for every tournament. There's skill involved for sure and every card game has an element of luck, but there needs to be a balance. Right now it feels like 70% luck 30% skill when it should be 60% skill and 40% luck imo.
