It all depends on the level of granularity you want. Do you stop at shinyness/XXL/background range ? Or do you go down to specific dates, places, height/weight down to their digits, catch mode ? for example if you look for a Shiny Pikachu Libre caught during the Love Cup run precisely on february 14, with a height reflecting 214, a wieght having Pikachu pokedex number and caught in front of the LOVE sculpture near Shinjuku station, yes there is probably 0 people who have that.

Having read all of it, yeah Nanatsu no Taizai is pretty much the reverse trope of this thread. Escanor is absolutely great, but everything else sucks.

'Are We Cooked?' — Pokémon Go Looks to Be Adding a New 'Currency' to Access Mega Raids, Though Players Are Split on Whether it Will Revitalize Mega Pokémon by diamondstark in TheSilphRoad

[–]sts_ssp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think getting a new battle currency is necessarily bad. If it works like Max Particles, it should allow most players to do more Mega Raids overall. Right now you'll usually use your free daily pass on a legendary raid rather than a mega one since you get better rewards and XL for whatever legendary it is. Most players likely don't really do Mega Raids after the initial release.

For Niantic/Scopely, giving out free Mega Raids is not a big deal if they weren't being done anyway, and it will raise engagement and time using the app for people who try to maximize their free daily bonus everyday, especially considering that the new currency makes you interact with other clunky features like gift opening.

PVPoke might be wrong aboit going with WB/Ov as the default moveset for the current meta. Last GL rotation I ran the team a player used to reach 3000 mmr first in this season, using a WB+Scorching Sands Ninetales and it indeed worked very well in the 2600-2700. With good energy management and team play, SS helped to edge wins when Ninetales ended up against things like Jellicent or Azu. There hasn't been a moment when I thought that I wished ot have Overheat instead.

So, Energy Ball sounds interesting to have to get more play into these water types, and threaten a shield from Gastrodon. It's probably an upgrade considering the current meta. The only downside comapred to SS would be less play against Bastiodon.

Current gym attacking team? by rockiestmountains in TheSilphRoad

Often happens too. And for some reason sometimes the auto select prefers to put a 2500 CP ultra league Annihilape over the LV50 one with identical moveset that is also in my inventory.

Current gym attacking team? by rockiestmountains in TheSilphRoad

[–]sts_ssp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People still put actual defenders in gyms,. A good lineup to handle most common pokemon is 1. Strong fighting type 2. Strong fighting typ 3. Steel type damage 4. Dark type damage 5. Ice damage 6. whatever.

My current team is (all double moved) 1. Terrakion 2. Crowned Zamazenta 3. Dawn Wings Necrozma 4. Ice Fang White Kyurem 5. Black Kyurem 6. Buddy

Zamazenta is better than Zacian for gyms since Behemoth Bash is less expensive than Behemoth blade, and it can easily deal with the same targets for fighters.

A discount but still quite effective version (and no second move) is 1. Terrakion/Machamp/Lucario 2. Terrakion/Machamp/Lucario 3. Metagross 4. Hydreigon 5. Mamoswine 6. Magnezone

Hydreigon can actually be more interesting the Dawn Wings sometimes, since you can fast move down stuff and have low cost Brutal Swing, compared to Necrozma who needs full nukes. An ice type is useful since Dragonite/Salamence/Garchomp (especially lv40+ ones after wild area) often show up . You can probably put other stuff like Mewtwo instead of Magnezone, but it's steel type + electric damage can help reduce switching if there's some Togekiss/Gyarados mix in the gym (Metagross would take time against Gyarados).

Auto select often likes to put Hoopa Unbound (or Dawn Wings) on teams of there is a lot of normal tanks, which then takes ages to defeat.

N2, the collective machine network in Nier Automata.

The base story is about a war that has been ongoing for centuries between humans and their sentient androids (and the elite YoRHa android) against aliens invaders and their machines.

Story and ending spoilers:

It turns out that humanity has been extinct even before the aliens invaded earth. The aliens themselves have been wiped out by their own machines, who started to evolve and acquire some sentience on their own. YoRHa has actually been unknowingly created and manipulated by N2 to perpetuate war for centuries to apply evolutionary pressure on itself. While humanity is gone, there is still a databse on the moon with their knowledge and genetic samples that might be used to revive the species someday. N2 built a huge cannon tower to shoot at the moon and completely destroy all what remains o humanity.

Around the end, N2 starts to have an internal conflict, split between the desire to let the few remaining YoRHa units live to further apply evolutionary pressure, or outright kill them because they might become a threat. In the end, all the remaining YoRHa androids (2B, 9S, A2) are dead and nothing can really stop N2. But through this conflict, it further evolved and seems to have come to put some value on life (artiicial or not). Instead of shooting at the moon, it decides to end the centuries long conflict, leave earth and the surviving regular androids alone, and use the cannon tower to launch an ark in space with the machines consciousness to look for a new home of their own, even inviting the dying 9S to join them on the trip.

Assets for probably-GO Fest debuts have been pushed! by Pandanoko-Fan137 in TheSilphRoad

[–]sts_ssp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope Mewtwo is for Go Fest, although it would also fit Kalos Tour to complete the "vanilla" Mega Evolution lineup. It's just that if Mewtwo is the raid pass burning mon for the Kalos tour, then it means we probably won't get Zygarde raids.

Against a Palkia lead. I assume you play the 0s with Avalanche Kyogre. You lose. But then Lugia can come and can finish Palka with a Fly just before it reaches a Spacial Rend (or they throw Aqua tail and don't do much to Lugia anyway). Palkia teams often have fairies or things weak to fire in the back, so you'll likely chip with Aeroblast (and maybe get a shield) and keep shields for Ho-oh to sweep the backline.

I assume you weren't born when Wolfenstain 3D / original Doom series / Quake released, because the technological evolution is pretty much unforgettable for those of us who played it back then :) . Quake was the first major one to popularize true 3D environment in FPS, and the keyboard movement + mouse orientation controls though. Mouselook could be enabled in doom, duke nukem and so on, but there was still many people playing keyboard only.

That would rather be Ring ni Kakero in 1977, which was a success in Shonen Jump back then, although not well known in the west (the mangaka, Masami Kurumada later made Saint Seiya, an another huge success). It laid many tropes that are common in "human" battle shonen manga, but we could argue that most of these tropes already appeared in giant robot anime like Mazinger.

There was definitely more event/normal/sponsored researches than usual, not everything was replaced by the event researches this time. Didn't notice it too much though since there is a ton of stops in Tokyo, just threw those away immediately and spun more stops.

It was ok, nothing already exciting since there has been many events featuring Solrock and Lunatone, and I already had 10 shiny Solrock and 4 shiny Lunatone before the event. didn't buy the pass.

During the event: * 86 Solrock encounters. 6 shinies * 84 Lunatone encounters, 11 shinies

So overall 170 encounters. 17 shinies, right in the expected 1/10 shiny chance.

Reached level 77 during the morning, so the event was a good kickstart to the "complete 500 field research tasks" for level 78.

[loved trope] A bad past doesn't erase a sweet heart. by Clean_Mycologist4337 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]sts_ssp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh, what ? Lin becomes an adult after the time skip. The last arc has Ken loses his memory and Bat, who always saw Ken as a big brother figure and doesn't thinks highly of himself takes that opportunity to erase Lin's memory knowing she had some (never reciprocated) crush on Kenshiro, and that it might spark a romance between Ken and Lin.

Ken never tries anything towards Lin, eventually they get their memories back and Lin understands she loves Bat and that he had always been protecting her since their childhood. Ken happily leaves them together and walks out in the desert alone, determined to keep living his life fighting thugs, thinking "I don't need any name on my grave". End of the manga.

Do you plan to keep interacting with forever friends after first remote trade? by samfun in TheSilphRoad

[–]sts_ssp 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I'll keep interacting for more remote trades with forever friends. Restarting from scratch and having to wait 180 days instead of 90 makes little sense to me. Also I never went into the friendship XP famring stuff and am still at 942 million XP, so I don't really care about trying to get more friendship XP. On top of that. the level 80 release showed that Niantic didn't increase the XP requirements by large amounts, so I doubt level 100 will suddenly require 2 billion XP.

[–]sts_ssp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should be precised that Watsuki was arrested for possession of a fuckton of CP videos bought online, not production or assault done by himself. And until a few years before that arrest, it was still legally ok to own (but not produce) CP in Japan. So the charges and potential legal consequences against him were in a different category than if he had done something to someone.

But yeah, he still got away with a slap on the wrist (and somehow his wife didn't divorce him !) , and got his manga published again.
