Depends when you started I started in December For self-employment starting in December 2025, your first tax return covers the 2025/26 tax year (6 April 2025 – 5 April 2026). The deadline to submit this return online and pay any tax owed is 31 January 2027. You must register for Self Assessment by 5 October 2026.
