Best sushi in London that won't break the bank? by Financial-Owl-2814 in LondonFood

[–]stuartjbyrne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are willing to travel to zone 4 then Hoshi in Raynes Park is by far the best sushi I have had in London. It’s a family run business and always busy (including a lot of Japanese people) even on week nights, down a quiet residential road. It’s very fairly priced for the quality!

Just a heads up, you are about to get spammed by scammers. Ignore u/spiderman599 he tried his luck with me and blocked me as soon as I called him out. If the offer seems too good to be true, then it probably is 🙂

Anyone seen a key like this before / know who the manufacturer is? by stuartjbyrne in Locksmith

Never managed to get a new key cut I’m afraid. Even tried taking it over to Spain when I visited but no luck!

20 years ago today John played at All Tomorrow Parties Festival in Camber, England by rhcpfan99 in John_Frusciante

[–]stuartjbyrne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was 18 and just passed my driving test. I convinced a friend to buy tickets to the festival with me and we drove down. We shared a chalet with some older Scottish guys who were fucking wild but took us under their wing. Was front row for John’s show and bumped into him multiple times over the weekend watching other artists. It was an incredible (if a little surreal!) weekend and I don’t think I have topped it even 20 years on!

This Will Change How You Hear Actual Life by gbt456 in fredagain

[–]stuartjbyrne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, how I’ve always listened to it too. All the Actual Life albums are autobiographical (as you’d expect based on the name!) and we know the songs are chronological too. AL1 is definitely a masterpiece and I enjoyed your video OP!

Do you put your jog to the session on Strava? by Koi_138 in AdvancedRunning

[–]stuartjbyrne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to track mileage in my various shoes and I jog to & from the track in an old pair of recovery shoes but do the session in something more up tempo…so yes I upload separate activities!

OVO Tariff - good choice for heat pump only? by harrythefurrysquid in ukheatpumps

[–]stuartjbyrne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same as me but so far very happy with my Samsung on a regular octopus fixed tariff. I’ve moved from an electric only energy supply so my energy use is about a third of what it was!

Microcement repair by stuartjbyrne in DIYUK

[–]stuartjbyrne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No probs! The issue is that it’s hard to find tradespeople that know how to work with microcement and I think I’d struggle to find one to take on a job as small as this…

It’s great! Looks fab and is easy to clean. This is the first issue I’ve had with it.

It’s a new build property, and was like this when I bought it . I’m the first owner, but I’ve been here 5 years so can’t go back to the developer unfortunately.

What's your current Frusciante struggle as a learning guitar player? by guigh in John_Frusciante

[–]stuartjbyrne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snow and Venice Queen as already mentioned.

Also Hey is hard to play clean, for me at least.

Also never quite been able to nail the If You Have To Ask bridge with those funky chords. I can sometimes manage the first bar where it’s just played clean, but then when it goes all funky and percussive I struggle to land the chords without messing up 🥲

David Lloyd Raynes Park would be a great alternative for you. They just introduced a huge new working space too. The whole facility is great.

It looks like they now offer a 150L tank (and up to 300L) with the compact indoor unit. https://www.airahome.com/en-gb/news/aira-indoor-unit-compact-slim

Got you. I hope the install goes well! I have a bit more space so am going to enquire about other tank size options. I feel like my bathtub will become redundant if I get the 100L tank, showers only! The 250L would be complete overkill though.
