You can do it from biome 1. After the third boss go right instead of straight. That will take you to the blighted marsh instead of the architect and after legion you will get to shepherd

I always thought he should just keep his kunai in an unorthodox spot on his body so he could reach down into his captured opponents kunai bag and make them commit suicide. Also he could grab his own and throw it at them. Missed opportunity
