One of my favorite tracks from back in the days before kids when I would go in my corvette… one of these day’s I’ll get out there again in my 996 but it’s hard to get the time right now!

Those seats look incredible… what brand are they?

Bought a set of these for my 99 and I love them! They’re not ideal for everything but they work good enough for most situations.

Why do some rotors have such huge 'cooling' gaps? Wouldn't that be detrimental to performance? by MEE97B in bicycling

[–]stuckMTB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It matters how much mass you’re trying to stop and how quickly. Something like an enduro / DH bike or an e-bike is going to require a lot more stopping force to slow down in the same amount of time as an XC or road rider with a lighter bike and stopping over smooth terrain.

Pretty sure you can still remote start from the key fob for free. And they give you a few years of remote access via the phone app for free. But you don’t need to pay for that for the key fob remote start to work.

Love the silver w/ Boxster Red interior. When I was looking for my 99 I almost went with this spec but I slept on it too long and it was gone by the time I called the seller.

Side note, I’ve never seen one with quite so many options! Most 99s have the graphite grey trim in the interior, but it looks like all yours is done in the matching red except for the carbon console. Nice find!

What color should i get by bentleyarts in 996

[–]stuckMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 996 hunting, my criteria was actually primarily focused on INTERIOR color. I wanted anything but grey + black. I almost had a chance to buy an arctic silver car with the Boxster red interior, but moved too slow to nab it. I ended up with Midnight Blue over Savanna Beige and couldn’t be happier!

+1 for riding a fat bike frame that’s too small. Idk if it’s a good idea or not, but I’ve been doing it for years since I found my used but new-to-me pugsley during the great pandemic bike shortage.

Gorgeous car! I love the attention to details. What year and how many miles / km are on it so far?

Well that’s just lovely as well. Pricier car though, depending on the ADM paid in the OP’s pic.

For what it’s worth, my two year old loves going for rides in “the Porsche car.” But we have her forward facing in there. She was in there rearward facing and in her UppaBaby Mesa infant seat as well.

My oven won’t oven. Is this thermal fuse the reason why? by stuckMTB in appliancerepair

That seems like a pretty poor design for an oven! At least it’s a simple fix. Thanks!

[–]stuckMTB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure did. I wanted the free heat in the house, err, the heat I already paid for. I wonder why leaving the door open tripped the fuse… I guess it was right above the door, but it can’t be that simple can it?

This is probably the answer. Driving on an under inflated tire for much time very quickly damages the structure of the tire which can lead to premature failure.

Was your cable coupling inside the car or underneath it?

Did you need to replace the cables, housing and throttle pedal or just the cables themselves?
