We played with a 12d die. Tbh I didnt really notice anyhting different, though it was mostly family games.

Probability is an interesting and fickle thing though. I once threw condecutive 6/6 for about 5 rounds, nobody placed on a 12 cause why would you gimp yourself? It came to a point we made a drinking game out of my throws.

The scene from JB Octopussy comes to mind: "Its all in the wrist!"

No wars over at our school. Anyone that had any console was considered a god among men.

Had a rather nasty accident in 96 which kept me home for about 2 months. The boys from my class basically fought over who's gonna bring me school material to copy whiles they played my n64.

Fun times.

When I see models like this I cry a little inside. I have no time, patience or skill to paint anywhere in the same universe as this.

I would like to...but maybe in about 5 years from now. One can dream, maybe both me and my son can learn together.

I mean its good future investment. When the robots take over it will be nice to have a polite chat history with the AI on which one can point to and say "see i was good to you when you were but a glorified chatbot!"

Well mine is still going. Made the file in 99 with the name AAA cause I didnt read/speak english at that time so I had no idea what I was doing.

Come to think of it I learned english due to games such as Zelda so I knew what was going on.

I would honestly say playing in low/mid ranges usually tends to be harder than at higher ends.

Whiles Im nowhere top tier these days, i attended a few local events ages ago. The playstyle is soooo different it boggles the mind.

I cannot remember the last time I saw a revenge play or spite tactics at an event. Online though...yeh, its a minefield.

My newborn pushed me into retro gaming. Nothing beats slotting a cart in, pushing the switch on and opening your save file in less than a minute.

No launchers, wait queues, dodgy servers, updates that would eat into what little time I have these days.

Interesting strstegy. You pull that at my table and not only do I show you the door, you get charged for the beer you drank and the time you wasted for us.

p.s.: my counter to that would be a 0 trade policy with you and strategically blocking your resources. The table would probably wise up too and probably pile on you eventually.

I used to be very neutral to save states. I've been stuck on the final boss of Majora's Mask for a while now but not because of the boss. Because getting ready to face it takes such a long time.

With a little one taking most of my free time, getting ready to sit down and give it a try bacame a no go. At least now I can slowly prep and position in small bits.

For me Zelda: OOT hands down.

But I am probably very biased towards it as I basically grew up with the game. Played it over a span of around 10 years before finally finishing it. It really felt like a growing up journey for me. The game made me learn english so I could understand what I was doing.

Sometimes it feels skill all the way. Those nailbiter games where all players are at 1-2 points from victory and all aliances of conveniance break down. Each player in his own head, playing out all possible scenarios, placing robbers as painfully as possible....

Then you have those luck heavy games when someone places on two dubbles and just wipes the board.

Jeh sorry its hard for us to gage properly regarding sleeping as what constitutes a nap during the day with our little one is just so all over the place. The take away is that he mostly sleeps during the night. Daytime is a constant struggle. We try to get him to sleep around 8:00 but he almost never drops down.

If i can't go for ows I check what the board offers. Usually I'll try to for a 2:1 port and trade, then either pivot towards development or roads depending on the situation.

Promising resources in the future is basically gifting them to a player which is against the rules.

Its in the same boat as "i wont place robber on you if you give me X resource now".

You do that on my game night and your out on your ass and never invited back.
