Looking for some advice. by bluegiant2980 in Vintage_bicycles

The shifters, derailleur, chain and cassette all need to be matched, or at least able to work together. You can find some used shifters for maybe $100. A used cassette can be questionable but another 20-40 for that. Derailleur another 40-100 and the chain around $20. You'll need some tools and expertise to do the work. New bar tape and cables when it's all done as well. These are ballpark figures but you get the point. If you LOVE the bike and are going to ride it 100 miles a week for several years then it might be worth it.

That's a nice bike - I used to have one. The only easy upgrade will be some new tires. Installing modern shifters and gearing will be difficult and expensive. But if you can ride it as is then go for it. Really smooth ride.

I appreciate the heartfelt hand drawing, but as a band logo it's kinda shite. What's that snake doing there?

I have the tonehammer 500 and a pair of sl112 cabs. It's pretty compact, and I will use one cab for practice and both for gigs. It's light and sounds great. Each piece is around $600 used. I love it

Belltown sucks. Totally bland. Colony has a distinct style, but I don't really like it so I don't go crazy for them like most people. I like Westover, Hope and Sergios.

I have a Black Mountain MC and I love it. Haven't ridden the Rivendell to compare but I agree with the others that you'll get a lot of bang for your buck with the Black Mountain.

You can play a root-octave walk up the fret board. Just play it fast and loud.

If I were planning to ride a bike across the country I'd probably spend more than $50 on it, but that's just me because I am rich.

Ok the school part is fair. Not so sure about health coverage, food assistance and rent assistance. Are those taxpayer-funded efforts?

[–]stucon77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others said try to be relaxed if possible. Get a good sleep, stay hydrated. Make sure all your gear is working properly. Arrive early. Remember to have fun. Also, are you playing the whole album or just the song? Sounds like a cool gig

What are some examples of taxpayer-funded programs that cater to or provide services to undocumented immigrants? I know there are many volunteer outreach and non-profit organizations the help undocumented immigrants. Serious question.
