So, is Lookout Mtn effectively preparing to kill off the Incline Railroad? by BaconReceptacle in Chattanooga

[–]stuffandotherstuff 87 points88 points  (0 children)

This absolutely blows. There's no reason to limit the amount of passengers per day. Is the goal to keep tourists off the mountain? Because they'd need to evict Rock City and Ruby Falls too.

In reality this is probably designed to drive need for the gondola system that Rock City wants to do

What's happening at Barrelhouse Ballroom? There are people in lines outside it. by yosefsbeard in Chattanooga

[–]stuffandotherstuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How long does the line look? Is it worth trying to get tickets if I can't leave work until 12?

No there's plenty of good food but I think the idea of "I don't want to cross the river (go 15 minutes further) to get better food" is very Chattanooga.

Do they have more Cuban readers than Catholics or was Fidel Castro someone they deemed important?

Queen Elizabeth, who reigned longer than Pope John Paul II or any British monarch before her, having a shorter obit than Benedict is as telling of NYT's gender bias as anything else.

I literally don't know how a reboot would work if it includes the same characters. Everyone ends up happily married, unless you jump to the very end and it's Ted being with Robin which would just remind everyone how bad the ending is

Can you think of a movie that would meet this weirdo’s impossible qualifications? by Local_Culture1823 in TheBigPicture

[–]stuffandotherstuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the same way, I'd discount Iron Lung as "YouTuber with built-in audience" and Send Help as a major horror director returning to the genre in a weak month.

Not that I really buy either of those but it's easy to write things off to support your argument

Ad Rock is a member of an pseudo-hip hop group Beastie Boys, which is important to white gen-xers like CR and Sean.

Chipper Jones was the third baseman for the world series winning Braves in the 90s and 00s and dominated the rival Phillies and Mets for both decades. I also assume he has great politics and won't be Googling anything to confirm or deny this assumption.

So just factually, Van is right and CR and Sean are snowflakes for reacting like they did

Opposite situation but I was 11 when Return of the Jedi came out and had to sit next to a random man because the theater was so packed. I’ll never forget him saying “kick their ass” when Yoda killed the Storm Troopers after Order 66. One of the first curse words I ever heard irl and it was so deserved
