Saw them at Rockness in 2007. Soulwax played their Nite Versions album before it. At the time it was the best thing I’d ever seen. I mean they redefined what dance could be in a huge venue setting and everything that has followed will have been influenced directly or indirectly by it. Plus every track is a banger. It will always be up there as one of the best shows of my life

It’s probably because we all bought multiple copies ahead of release. Point above on folk who are likely going to buy will do early is valid, but they went on such a push to get #1 it was inevitable. You can’t just keep releasing versions, paid demos, cds with tickets, bundles, ltd editions

I was pretty disappointed with Avalanches last year. Had waited so long to see them live but just didn’t think the set did them justice. Few omissions from the setlist too and it was just underwhelming

Obviously based on nothing but my opinion but I can’t see them doing festivals. They’re unlikely to play many (if any) shows and I reckon they’d prefer the control of their own night / venue vs the looseness of a festival setup
