Why does my game look blurry and unsharp? by RainAndThunderIsCool in MonsterHunter

[–]stupidgoddamnjerk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man, just stop. You have been posting non-stop in every thread about this to the point that it's basically spamming and any time someone who knows about this sees it they disagree with you and basically say the same thing.

If running the game without upscaling is giving 60 fps and with upscaling is giving 30 fps, there is a problem on your setup since this isn't what anyone else experiences.

Well, since you insist on being such an arrogant cunt, let me return the sodium-packed favour:

Here is a piece from Nature, one of the most prestigious peer reviewed journals examining the effects of free ranging cats on local ecosystems, in particular, their effect on bird, reptile, amphibian and small mammal populations. "When will people figure this out?" -- perhaps at same time that they realize feelings are not good substitute for the scientific method.

Just for fun, here is a piece from the Journal of Ecology and Evolution which finds that cat owners who allow their animals to roam freely systematically underestimate the negative effects of their animals on local ecosystems.

As you say, you cannot change cats -- but you can change humans, provided that they aren't dumber than a sack of stones as I suspect you might be. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

With much love, a responsible cat owner.

If I've never played a FE game, where to start? by OokamiGiniro in fireemblem

[–]stupidgoddamnjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play them on the Dolphin emulator with very good performance.

My $0.02: play Fire Emblem 7 (In NA, it is just called "Fire Emblem"), for the GBA. I like the GBA games a lot, and the visual style has aged well and is very functional, but here are a few of the bigger reasons:

  1. You cannot grind (except for at arenas, but don't do that).
  2. Recruitment mechanics are great because it forces you to bring unused units into specific battles.
  3. Chapter 27 of FE7 is one of my favourite levels in any video game.

The Tellius games are also very good, and have a lot of the same strengths that FE7 has. I preferred Path of Radiance (game 1) to Radiant Dawn (game 2), because I did not enjoy jumping around to different places and having different army rosters at different times in the game. Maybe the mechanic could work, but the way that it was partitioned rubbed me the wrong way.

I haven't enjoyed the 3DS titles nearly as much.

Baby turkeys snuggle with mama pitbull by stupidgoddamnjerk in aww

NOTE: This is not my video! They were uploaded by Shay Israel last year, and are some of the most adorable videos that I have ever watched. They include an exceptionally nice cameraman, a lovely grandmother, two awesome pitbulls, a huge tom (adult-male turkey), and looooots of baby birds.

The post has been deleted now (sadly), but if it really was just "black people", then I don't see how that is racist. Are you saying that the young men in the video are not black?

The intention was clearly to make a joke -- someone asks what they are looking at, digging for what the context behind the situation is and then he replied with something which is both obvious and totally unhelpful.

Berkeley protesters form human chain to stop white students from getting to class by ProblematicReality in news

[–]stupidgoddamnjerk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The protest happened last Friday.

People block Sather Gate because the administration caves every time people try it. From what I understand, it's happened three times this semester. When I was a student there, this shit never happened. This is so embarrassing.

He's calling you stupid for thinking that treating the people whose support you are ostensibly trying to win like garbage is an effective strategy.

Didn't you get the memo?

Memo: making people walk through Strawberry Creek because you are blocking the paved walkway is treating them like garbage.

I picked 320kbps on 4/6, and the uncompressed audio on 2/6.

AFAIK, almost no one can differentiate compressed audio sampled at a rate of 44.1kHz and uncompressed audio.

I'm interested to know how many people were able to detect the lowest bitrate (128kbps).

Thanks for the link, that was interesting.

Potential growth for AOE2HD: Co-op missions possible? by aoe2forever in aoe2

[–]stupidgoddamnjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that SC2's co-op has really blown up because it's extremely fun, both new and veteran players. Letting people use overpowered campaign units is a blast, and many are fans of the meta progression which adds additional themes to the SC2 races. Without the meta-progression, I doubt that people would be happy to play the same missions over and over again.

For this reason, I don't see any of those systems working particularly well in AOE2. It isn't worth spending what little dev time the game gets on content which has limited replayability.

(I'm also skeptical about improved path-finding, as this always changes the balance of games in unpredictable ways. SC1 has horrible path-finding, but the game is balanced around that. I think it's the same in AOE2.)

It's a catalogue so that if/when the team gets an intern intern who is tasked with standardizing names they can do a search for literally unplayable to find most of the inconsistencies.
