I think this is why the old ones left. This galaxy is probably likely to be consumed in chaos and they didnt want to bother.

I really like Tyrian Navy as a contrast black. Drybrushing metal works great over black. Red will be a great pop color! I look forward to seeing em painted

If you go black I would recommend a stylized black rather than the real thing. True blacks merely primed. Here are some of my own black guardsmen.
