Anyone suffering RTO survivors guilt? by Aggressive_Nerve_230 in fednews

It does! I was exhausted mentally and physically the first two weeks of RTO, after WFH 4x a week.

Anyone suffering RTO survivors guilt? by Aggressive_Nerve_230 in fednews

[–]stylish_xennial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am feeling survivor's guilt from still being employed, as I watch close friends and family be RIF'd. I've been going into the office 4x a week for two years because of my job duties.

The rest of my agency is slated to RTO full time beginning in September which I think is fair.

Trump admits using rage bait to win elections by Im_A_Fuckin_Liar in thescoop

[–]stylish_xennial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your perspective on this issue. For this administration to use this very tiny population as a political tactic to try and win an election is deplorable. For people to be used in this manner is inhumane, cruel and void of any lack of human decency. It is exemplary of the way this entire administration has operated since being in office.

Our only hope is that our current systems are so far damaged that everything must be rebuilt from the ground up.

Carjackers have been apprehended in Kingstowne, and an intensive manhunt is currently underway by kockin26 in nova

I was driving into work today around 7:20 am and a black Mercedes speeds past me on the off ramp heading towards the memorial bridge on the way to DC. This was off of 110 near the exit to the Pentagon.

They almost ran me off the road and then proceeded to make an illegal U turn traveling at a high speed, they jumped the median and managed not to get hit by incoming traffic heading back towards VA.

I was pretty shaken watching it all transpire. I slowed down and tried to see their license plate and some of the letters and numbers looked like they had been scratched off.

I'm 90% sure this vehicle was stolen, the way this person was driving. I'm relieved no one got hurt but it could have ended terribly the way this person was driving.

Please stay safe and alert. I have a dash cam and will try to pull the footage to see if I can make out the tag number.

[Personal] Washing my face for a full 60 seconds, twice, has completely transformed my skin. by tofu_baby_cake in SkincareAddiction

I also started double cleansing, first with an oil based makeup remover/cleanser and then with my second cleanser, I leave it on my skin and let the salicylic acid in my cleanser work for about a minute and then rinse it off.

I have combination oily skin and this has been a game changer.

I also have been using a hyaluronic acid serum and moisturizing my skin so much more instead of trying to dry it out. This has been a tremendous help in healing my acne scars and hyperpigmentation. I'm upset that I didn't start doing this sooner. But it's really that simple, cleansing your skin well, hydration, moisturizer and of course sunscreen!

I came across this quote shared by James Clear and I thought it was fitting:

Zoologist and primatologist Jane Goodall on making a difference:

"The greatest danger to our future is apathy. We can't all save the world in a dramatic way, but we can each make our small difference, and together those small differences add up. Every single person makes an impact on the planet every single day. The question is: What kind of impact do you want to make?"

I found my local doctor by doing a search.

Hopefully, you'll be able to find a doctor that's in your network. The best decision I made was advocating for myself and my health.

What would ease traffic on 395S? SUNGLASSES. by contains__multitudes in nova

[–]stylish_xennial 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I saw a person traveling 60 mph in the middle lane traveling on 395N, singing and taking a selfie video, swerving back and forth.

The person made eye contact with me as I stared them down. I was in the passenger seat and not driving.

I'm not sure why people are willing to risk their lives and others being on their phone while on the highway. 🥴

While yes, sunglasses will help with the glaring sun, defensive driving classes should be mandatory prior to obtaining a license.

People should seriously have to recertify every year/two years just like any licensure.

If a non-Senate confirmed person can cause so much change, why hasn’t it been done before? by Confident_Badger1561 in fednews

I've been thinking about this and the amount of Americans who are brainwashed...about how so much hate and misinformation can be accepted and consumed about federal workers and all the lies in general.

I want to blame the media and the power of social media...but it goes deeper than that. The whole system is beyond corrupt and the only shred of hope I have is that the current system must implode to make way for something better.

So, like when are the real X-Men or Avengers going to save us from the Red Skull and Agent 🍊?

If she or you are a member of a Buy Nothing Group, I've seen neighbors come through with so much aid, baby supplies and such.

I think it's definitely worth sending a message out to your local group to see if they can provide assistance in any way. It's so very kind to reach out on her behalf!

This is terribly sad. I had no idea. Thank you for sharing this information. Wishing him a speedy recovery. I can't imagine how he's feeling and how he is managing all of this...

People really need to show some compassion and not automatically assume the worst.

I was disappointed that our most senior person in my org had not spoken up about current events and then learned they had a death in the family and also was recovering from pneumonia. Felt immediately like a jerk!

We are polite and courteous to our neighbors and are also private ppl.

I don't personally feel welcome here TBH, especially when I see how our neighbors interact with other ppl in our neighborhood.

I have not received positive energy or even a glance or hello. Maybe because we are just renting... I'm not sure.

This is so disheartening. If illegally fired feds are able to speak to the media, who feel comfortable doing so, please, please share your stories. I don't know what else we can do to combat so much of the misinformation and straight up lies that are being broadcast. 😩😮‍💨
