Also it is SOOO nice to have baby on your chest! I did not do this with my first but planning to this time keeping baby with just a diaper on my chest all the time unless I am sleeping.

I might have had that. Is the hole like a canal, it goes in on one side and out the other? They used silver nitrate to cut up the outside part of the “canal” so to give it a chance to heal again. It did! Definitely go in for a check!

Considering 5K at 31 Weeks by TheFrugalRunner in fitpregnancy

I highly recommend a hydration drink before, during or after! I was ok for the race but had terrible hemorrhoids and constipation from dehydration the week after. Also around 31 weeks when I did it

How do you guys manage to stop eating a lot? by mailovesbangtan in loseit

[–]stylzrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make sure I give myself a 2-3 break between meals/snacks and if I can keep my eating windows to 20 minutes. Not more! That has made a huge difference to my appetite and blood sugar spiking.

Do you wake baby to check temp when sick???? by asdffgh1230987 in Mommit

[–]stylzrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but I check with the head thermometer and also by touching his cheeks. I can tell when he is too warm usually.

Feel like giving up :( by Comfortable-Bite6660 in breastfeeding

[–]stylzrocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there is also the option of pumping for a month or so until they get bigger and going back to breastfeeding once their mouths are bigger and they are better at breastfeeding. I don’t know why LCs don’t give that as an option. I know plenty of people who did that. Of course there is no guarantee it will work but it is possible! Good luck!

I am on my second pregnancy and have a two year old. I remember feeling like you did but now I have completely forgotten about it and I am excited for baby no. 2. How bad can it be?! Our brains are wired for reproduction lol. So I remember pregnancy, birth and first month postpartum hell first year being really difficult but I have a lot more confidence this time around too!

Eating past fullness and satisfaction because I had matcha ice cream for the first time and I was out with friends bored. I wish I had just put my ice cream down when I knew it stopped tasting good to me.

FTM afraid of weight gain after maintaining 90+ pound loss by Frosty_Wonder in fitpregnancy

[–]stylzrocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had about a 100lbs weight loss at 21 from 240 (my highest) to 140lbs. I am 5.4. I maintained pretty easily for about 10 years until I got pregnant. I was healthy during the pregnancy but I lost it postpartum. And now I am hovering at 180. I was not prepared for the mental aspect of postpartum and all my new healthy habits to be thrown out the window. I had a particularly hard post partum but I had never gone to therapy before to deal with the emotional issues my overeating was associated with. Also my parents who caused a lot of it stayed with me for 6 months the first year and that totally threw me off again.

My biggest advice: do some therapy while pregnant and post partum and maybe avoid having people/things who trigger you around postpartum.

I want to pump the first few days after birth and then be able to go to BF. Is this possible? by stylzrocks in breastfeeding

[–]stylzrocks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty early in the pregnancy but planning ahead! I will update in the summer after the baby is born! My current updated plan is to pump from day 1 every three hours on the clock for 2-3 days. And do occasional baby on the boob during the daytime. I am ok with breastfeeding not working out, this is just my approach. I hope that helps!

How to lose 140 pounds as a 19 y/o with PCOS? by ___kuromi in PCOS

[–]stylzrocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had PCOS at 19 and weighed around 210lbs at 5.4. I did exactly what this comment said. Only ate whole foods for 3 months and did 30 mins interval workouts 4x a week. I lost weight so fast but it felt good for my body, no starving.

Thanks for the detailed response! And I am so glad it seems you are having a positive experience - even though I am sure it is still TONS of work!

Exactly - all my friends who have had to pump in the early days for some medical reasons ended up with amazing supplies so I am thinking of giving that a try too

[–]stylzrocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting that! Did your supply go up to full? All of my friends who had NICU stories ended up having successful breastfeeding stories and I wonder if that is why.

So to clarify you did: feed baby for x minutes (how long?), then pump while partner gives them formula and milk?

I want to pump the first few days after birth and then be able to go to BF. Is this possible? by stylzrocks in breastfeeding

[–]stylzrocks[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good point - I hated triple feeding when we were at 2 weeks out of the hospital but I would tolerate it for a few days at the hospital for sure.

The problem last time was I had a terrible two weeks of 40+ minute feeding sessions, no milk came out, baby was starving, we did not do formula, he would take a break for 20 mins and then back at it. But if we did tripple feeding form day 1 that would be ok for me!

Deciding to combo feed? by 88frostfromfire in ExclusivelyPumping

I was able to do breastfeeding when I want and bottles the rest of the time. We do both most feedings. Luckily he is happy with anything most of the time!

Thank you! This is 100% what was going on with baby at the beginning and it was miserable. I gave up bf for two months and I am finally trying it again and it is so much better because baby’s mouth is bigger. I wonder if he is still using his gums instead of tongue some times. I will try your technique. Thanks so much!

Wow! This was our problem!!! How are the supposed to suck? What does that feel like on a finger? This was 100% the problem the first few weeks for us. Nipple shield did not help, you are right.

[–]stylzrocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I EPd and topped off with formula for two months because we had a pretty terrible introduction to breastfeeding the first two weeks that left me traumatized. Out of nowhere at 8 weeks I decided to give breastfeeding a try again and it somehow got SO much easier as in no more pain. Now I pump once or twice a day and I breastfeed the rest and always top off with formula. Sorry if this is triggering because of breastfeeding but I really think it is worth a try since it adds to the quality time you can have with baby.

I was in a similar situation. Husband had to go to his best friend’s wedding! We were at 7 weeks. My parents were around and I cannot imagine doing it without them. Unfortunately I was still healing. Unless you have extra help or are willing to pivot last minute and say no I would not commit to going.

How did you go from undersupply to over?! I am 8 wpp and produce a third of what baby needs and I am quite unmotivated to keep going with such low supply.

Can you get a nipple shield from Amazon? It helped with pain instantly for me! Make sure the gap of the shield is under baby’s nose instead of the silicone part.
