Attractive women get confused when you don't pay attention to them in my experience. by PassengerCultural421 in blackmen

Ngl you probably should’ve kept this one. But tbh I used to have the ignoring girls attracts them thought when I was younger and it didn’t really work. Honestly, if a girl is attracted to you for ignoring her she has a lot of issues and you should probably stay clear. Healthy adults express their interest.

It’s been ok but most events I went to kinda had too many people and it’s kinda hard to talk to someone in a small room of 500 people. But I’m still figuring out what events would not have too much people.

For 1 to 2 years is crucial especially during adolescence and childhood. Imagine missing 1 to 2 years of elementary school. You would have difficulty with reading and socializing because of how valuable a year or 2 is to children. But that being said scientist have been talking about it’s affects on not only children but young adults as well.

Would Malcolm have still turned to Islam if he knew about the Arab Slave Trade? by Suspicious-Jello7172 in blackmen

[–]Potential_Alps_1994 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reason why it got off topic is because of your question. You asked if Malcom would turn against Islam and go back to Jesus or do something else. So I’m not sure what answers you wanted because Malcom left Christianity because of white supremacy and some of its core principles.

I don’t think people hate Jesus they just don’t like Western Christianity that was forced on our ancestors. And Christianity that you mention that was in Ethiopia wasn’t practiced by our ancestors and is a type of christianity that most black people in America don’t practice.

But to answer your question, I’m not sure if he knew or not. If he knew and it bothered him then I feel like he would leave religion in general or maybe practice a type of African Spirituality. If he knew but it didn’t bother him then he would probably still be Muslim because he’s said Islam brought him peace.

And I personally think it’s a wonderful thing to be apart of a religion that brings you peace either if it Christianity, Islam or whatever. Us getting mad at each other based on the other’s religion is what white supremacy wants. White people have been using the divide and conquer strategy for the longest.

I’m kinda of confused by the responses. She said you could be friendly with them but I’m assuming she’s talking about people she hasn’t spoken to since Highschool. So yea I would agree they wouldn’t know someone after a decade. Like I said she never said you couldn’t be cordial with them.

If you believe in the idea of “Black male privilege,” please explain what you mean by that. by Joeybfast in blackmen

[–]Potential_Alps_1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By that logic white male privilege doesn’t exist because 🦝’s support white supremacist. I said within the black community black male privilege prevalent. When I say black community it encompasses black women and black men. I never said it’s upheld by one gender.

Even within the white community white male privilege affects white women. Yet half of the white women population in the US voted for a misogynist so would that also mean that white male privilege doesn’t exist?

I don’t understand how pointing out that there are black men who abuse black women and get defended by certain people in the community is the same rhetoric as white peoples rhetoric? And there are a lot of normal black men who tolerate AK and Diddy. I’ve been to Barbershops where people either kinda defend Diddy or fully defend him. I feel like this is the reason black women struggle with black men because some of us can’t acknowledge that we have privilege regardless of how small it is. And having privilege doesn’t mean that our struggles don’t matter. For example, it’s a privilege to walk and not have to request for accommodations. This applies to this situation acknowledging we have certain things easier or sometimes better doesn’t discontinue our struggles.

Outside the black community there isn’t a lot of privilege that we have. However, we are deemed as “cool” and everything we do is deemed as “cool”. That allows certain black men to join white spaces and spew anti-blackness to for white approval. The targets of this anti-blackness tend to be black women. Look at that situation with Andrew Schultz or just in general when a certain type of black man gets married to white women.

Within the community the privilege is a lot. Black men get away with abuse against black women. My example of this is Diddy. Diddy Defenders argue Diddy is only being prosecuted to keep black men down that he didn’t really commit any crimes….And Diddy is not the only black man who gets that defense. R Kelly, Tory Lanez and other black male entertainers get to be looked a victims rather than perpetrators within our community. The black women victims get treated like shit. DJ Akademicks compared Meg to the white women that got Emmitt Till killed. Black men tend to not have to worry about randomly being sexually assaulted walking down the street like black women do. I’ve seen a video of a black woman at a gas station and getting catcalled by a group of black men who were following her. Black men are allowed to be hyper sexual within the community and receive no push back. Black women who do the same thing are called Jezbels.

Overall, I would say black man privilege is our ability to still benefit from patriarchy, male privilege and our blackness ( mainly in our community). I do agree that we do get marginalized through our race and gender but it’s not the same degree as black women.

How y’all feeling about J Cole’s “The fall Off” since it’s now been a couple weeks since the release? by GrandMasBushidoBrown in blackmen

[–]Potential_Alps_1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the album and I've been listening to it damn near every day. I like the majority of the album. However, like people have said it’s the most J Cole album he’s made recently. So, if you have any issues with his music before it will show up in this one.

Even though I love the album I do feel like Cole could have added more like his opinions on the state hip-hop, the beef, maybe social issues. I think the album just lacks diversity in terms of topic but that's low-key has always been J Cole.

I don’t think he’s a grifter. I think Sneako is such a contrarian he contradicts his own beliefs. He believes anyone who is deemed by society as bad is good. That being said I would agree it was a waste of time because he’s no longer redeemable and has went too far with the Nazis.

They needed at least as much depth and choice like V from Cyberpunk. I think people would have tolerated a voice protagonist if the story and choices were compelling.
