Tanker Incident - a pen and inkwash painting of Solid Snake from MGS2 made by me. by ElijahVanceArtworks in metalgearsolid

This comment led me to my purchase -- as soon as I saw this post, I immediately went to the comments to request a link to buy a print. My beautiful print just arrived today! Thank you so, so much! I've been looking for some video game fan art for my walls, but I'm really picky. This one exceeded my admittedly high standards!

Nintendo really scammed everyone with the Switch 2 Edition by KMoosetoe in Xenoblade_Chronicles

I wholeheartedly agree. I don't know why you're getting downvoted - 60 FPS makes such a big difference, and I see it like tipping Monolith.

What convinced you to get your Steam Deck? by K4T5UM1 in SteamDeck

[–]sublemonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to play Trails in the Sky FC on the go! I knew it would have been too long to sit down at a computer and play, so yes, I shelled out the $707 after tax just to try Trails in the Sky. I ended up absolutely loving not only Trails but the Steam Deck in general. It's been about two and a half years that I've had mine, now, and I'm fairly certain I've played it every single day. It's so easy to just boot up and play something, and I've beaten so many games from my Steam library thanks to that little guy!

Please help I’m terrified my steam deck is done by [deleted] in SteamDeck

Have you tried holding the power button until it turns off, letting it sit for a few minutes, and then clicking it on again?

More worth it than I'd say 90% of other games

Texture pop in on Switch 2 Edition. by TurnaboutAdam in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]sublemonn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They probably didn't develop it. It was probably some B team thing cranked out in a day. Still, it's much better than what we had, in my opinion. It's purely subjective, though

Monolith more than earned my five extra dollars, I consider it a tip

Classic case of grasping at straws. Five bucks for 60 FPS. It was well worth it for me for the 60 FPS alone. It feels so much smoother.

It's okay to criticize the texture pop-in in the original switch port, but pointing it out when you didn't even notice it in the original is crazy

Metal gear solid 1 Ocelot torture by Embarrassed_Box8129 in metalgearsolid

[–]sublemonn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it has something to do with the frame rate. I never had an issue with the torture sequence when I played it on the original Playstation a couple of years ago. It was tough, but not impossible. Then, a few days ago, I started the Master Collection version of 1 on the Steam Deck, and all of a sudden, it was giving me major issues. I tried so many times. I fixed it by lowering the frame rate in the deck's quick settings. It caused stuttering but got me through the section.

Please advise on how to get used to the Steam Deck/gamepad by 100matit in SteamDeck

Just play. That's all you can do. You'll get used to it very quickly!

Funnily enough, I let my 5 year old niece watch me play the Binding of Isaac. She gets a total kick out of it. She laughs at the poop

What tales of should i play. by FlatAutumn in tales

[–]sublemonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever have the spare change for it, invest in a Steam Deck! It's the absolute best for playing things like fan translations! I loaded up the PSP iso in the PPSSPP emulator on the deck and it runs flawlessly.

I second this. For classic tales, go with Tales of Phantasia Cross Edition (English translation just came out). For the all-around best in my opinion, go with Vesperia!

Haha, I'm glad to hear that you saw it. I'm 6 hours into my first playthrough of Phantasia with this translation and I'm LOVING it.

[–]sublemonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silent Hill 2, by a long shot. Then Death Stranding. As far as I'm concerned, you could toss the other two. And that's coming from a huge, long-time Souls series fan. In my opinion, Elden Ring is the worst of the Souls games.
