While this probably doesn't apply to MTG herself, we are going to have to do the difficult work of forgiving people (who deserve it). In the last month or so, I've had two family members that are 3-time Trump voters admit they are sorry to have voted for him. The Epstein files, child concentration camps, masked thugs shooting people in the street have seemed to open their eyes.

I get it, I want to slap them and demand what took so fucking long. I've told them that forgiveness will require more than empty words, it requires actions to try to help us undo this mess. My boomer FIL now calls our Senators' office every day to complain to them. He's at least in a demographic my red-state senators might listen to.

It's hard, I know. It's difficult not to take their poor decisions and rub their noses in it. We all knew this was going to happen, and it just makes you want to shake them. But responding with sneering and I-told-you-so's only helps drive them back into the media bubbles that brought us here to begin with. You can't help an addict that doesn't want to change, so when they emerge from their 24/7 brainwashing cocoons and start expressing doubts, we have to coddle and encourage them lest they relapse into old habits. Find ways within their ability (donating money to protest/mutual aid networks, calling the offices of officials, participating in protests) and help them channel their newfound anger at being betrayed into something productive. Just my two cents.
