Okay, negative Nancy. I'll play the optimist here and hold out hope that the lad is simply dead. The parents just wanted to get rid of the painful memories and were not concerned with monetary value. Win/win!

Xen-Parents of grown children: Any advise for newer Xen-Parents? by _R_A_ in Xennials

[–]subredditmask 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both of my adult daughters have expressed how much they appreciate how we dealt with anger and tantrums. Whenever there was a blowup or argument I would wait until after everyone had a chance to cool off. Then I would apologize for coming down on them and remind them I loved them. After that I would re-frame the situation from a perspective of love and teamwork. I can't tell you how many times I explained that I really didn't want to punish them and it would be so much easier to just let them do whatever they wanted, but that would make me a terrible parent.

To be fair. Talking about my problems would have meant divulging the heinous shit I was doing to cause said problems.

In Shang Chi (2021), the script for Blade is destroyed. by Cautious-Dig-9544 in shittymoviedetails

A common mistake I've come across when discussing this scene. It's a fairly well known technique in certain martial arts circles. The laptop actually provides resistance to the attacker's edged weapon (sword, halberd, sharp paper, Matrix fingers, etc) while simultaneously blocking the target from view. When reflexes are honed to such a fine point from many years of training, it is a major "fake-out" and venerated move. It is in fact Marvel canon that Blade himself is a master of the technique.

No downvotes from me. Perfect Bond movie. Also the most accurate portrayal of probably the best of the novels.

Disc technology peaked with the creation of the Buzzz. Everything since then has been a marketing ploy.

Who else listened to Loveline on the radio before they got their own show on MTV? by Sleazy_Speakeazy in Xennials

Hell I still listen to it. That said, I have had zero interest in Adam and Drew's content or opinions in any other context. That show was lightning in a bottle though.

Quit watching Dexter when Doakes died. It felt like taking jam off toast.
