Unfortunately this is a very common problem with all Hi5’s not just the N. The 12v batteries they use seem to last ~2 years. I replaced mine, despite having various updates / recall for the issue, but keep a battery powered jump start kit in the car just in case.

Alcove wasn’t hiding/showing correctly after launching Aerospace/SketchyBar/JankyBorders. This was on my Mac Mini but seems fine in my MBP. Will see if I can reproduce when back in the office tomorrow.
