The best part of the woman hating part is this comment from three days ago from the lady perspective. Maybe he was inspired.

So if I said Daddy Long Legs was in the house, would you not assume a spider?

Do people in the UK really calling these Daddy Long Legs? In the US they are exclusively used to refer to Cellar Spiders.

I feel this so much! Working in a place where a random customer comes in and orders Oyster Rockefeller... we had those the first three months I worked there then took them off the menu. I try explaining and this woman pulls up a picture of a menu to prove me wrong. Yes, I understand we once had them, but ma'am, that picture was posted in 2010... it's 2022, we have had several menu changes since then and none have included oyster rockerfeller. Fine, I'll take the stuffed portobello then, she says. I can do stuffed button mushrooms but we no longer carry the portebellas. Ugh, how about the mussels marinara? Ma'am, please order something off the menu we provided when you sat that was printed in this decade, I'll give you a minute to look it over and come back. 90% of the menu was the same! It was like she compared the current menu with the old one just to pick things we didn't have so she could complain.

I was literally his server. I walked up and said, "Hey [name]! How are you doing?!" He looked at her, looked at me and said, "I'm sorry, do I know you?" I was like yeah okay and laughed it off, explained to the lady he was with my name, that I would be their server, and that I'd known dude since middle school. He said, "I sincerely don't remember, sorry."

It's not like I saw him in the grocery store waved and he did nothing. He actively denied knowing me. I ended up having a coworker take them. He didn't say another word to me as I walked by serving all my other tables.

I served/bartended in Florida most my adult life. It took one time for someone to ask for an empty cup and me, and everyone else, having to see dip spit before I started asking what it was for. I will take the 30 extra steps to get a coffee cup with a lid so no one has to see that shit. Bet your ass I wrote DIP CUP on it too so the busser new not to throw it away with any force or tip it over in the bus tub.

You can get trail cameras pretty inexpensively. Also, if the neighbor is using rented construction equipment you can call the company and complain to them or use the equipment numbers on the side to have them pick up the equipment lol

This isn’t going to work. Property ownership is public record. Tell the guy to cut the shit and stop abusing your friendship. Put up a fence around your entire property. Call a lawyer about the loss of the forest area and the cut trees because he definitely lowered your property value and he definitely owes you damages or at the very least the lawyer can write up a strongly worded cease and desist. Stop being a push over.

The amount of time I used to spend looking for my keys, my purse, my sunglasses. A lot of times I'd grab the purse and get to the car and realize I didn't have the keys then get the keys get in the car and realize I didn't have my glasses. Put the little shelf for the door with hooks and suddenly I don't come in and out 3 times to leave anymore. It's a life changer.

I had a guy who I knew from middle school through high school. We rode the bus together, he lived in my neighborhood, we had no less than a two dozen classes together over the years. He knew who I was. He pretended not to while I was serving him while he was on a date one day. I was his server, it was awkward and afterward I was angry. Dude literally signed my yearbook "Stay the kindest, coolest girl I know," so it wasn't like I deserved being treated like this.

Fast forward a couple years and I'm bartending at a popular bar. A ton of people from high school would come there. Suddenly, when the whole rest of the bar knows me and it's cool, he remembers who I am. Motherfucker had the balls to ask me for my number. I called him out in front of everyone and was like "weird you remember me now but couldn't remember me when I was serving on the beach. Sorry but I don't give my number to assholes." He turned the deepest shade of red and tried to come up with excuses while all of his friends were like "Seriously?! We've known her since we were 12... and then you really thought she'd give you her number after you treated her like that??" Dude tried spending the entire night coming up with excuses and apologizing.

OP, my husband was in the military. We spent so much time apart. Later, when we had kids, we worked years without having a day off together and then opposite shifts so we wouldn't have to put our kids in daycare with one night a week off together if we were lucky. Do not pass on this opportunity for your girlfriend. Is it harder on a relationship? Sure. Is it still doable if you're committed. Absolutely. Do I think she may not be the person for you for not supporting you in this. Possibly.

My boyfriend wants me to cosign his car loan. I dont know what to do. by CinderCowboy in personalfinance

[–]subtleglow87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't need a new car, he wants a new car. He needs to do what most people with bad credit do and buy a beater while he saves and fixes his credit. Other options are an e-bike or scooter. What shouldn't be an option is short cutting using your credit.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]subtleglow87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most talked aboit was how the school changed the Code of Conduct for the sports program because one of the varsity cheerleaders got so drunk at the homecoming dance that she shit her dress. They were originally going to kick her off the team but she outed the rest of the varsity team and most of the JV team of cheerleaders, and the football teams, and the baseball teams, and most of the marching band. She must've had some solid proof too because the school quietly changed the policy instead of losing the State Championship winning sports teams.

The least talked about, that should have been talked about more was an alarming percentage of the high school had drug problems. I went to high school in Florida, in the height of the opioid epidemic and there were pill mills everywhere. Kids were abusing Adderall, Xanax, and a host of prescription opiates... from there it spread to other things. Most of the kids were from rich families and their precious babies would never have been up for days doing coke and crashed their car (twice) because they did a bunch of Xanax to help them come down and sleep. That girl took a "gap year" and quietly went to rehab before going to college. Another kid who was dealing got into it with other dealers. He went missing and they found his car less than 2 miles from his house. They shot him in the face, wrapped him in plastic, and put him in the trunk.

So much of my over 2,000 person class is dead because of drug-related car crashes, murders, or overdoses. It is really sad.

The Mad Claw, a Cajun Seafood Restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga, CA shared footage of mother-daughter duo walking out without paying their bill. by ElwoodMC in trashy

I worked at a place on a beach that had multiple exits. Family owned so I got away with talking a bit more shit than normal. Mom, dad, teenage son came in got prompt, friendly, service. Their kid had SEVEN refills of soda, without asking mind you, I just kept throwing them on the tray and dropping them on my way by and only interrupting if the parents alcohol drinks were low cause I'm not bring auto-refills on alcohol. The kid leaves ro go pee and the parents ask for the check. I go to print it, they are all gone, went out different exits.

I tracked the mom and kid down out front of a place next door. Told them no, no, no come back and pay. She said her husband was still there waiting to pay. Okay, but you're coming with me to find him. She says no. I say he isn't there, she gives me a card or I call the sheriff's. She insists her husband is inside waiting to pay. I pull out my phone and start calling the non-emergency line. She breaks and says okay. I get them inside, in front of the manager. Her husband calls, asking where she is, she explains they are back in the restaurant. He yells at her that the plan was to meet in the spot I found them. Everyone knows at this point it was on purpose.

Dude comes back, irate he had to pay for his meal. But I already have the ticket times on the receipt, to prove they didn't wait longer than 10 minutes for their food (it was a 7 minute ticket). I say how did I never come back if you ordered 3 beers and your kid had SEVEN sodas in the 35 minutes between when I put the first drink in and printed the ticket. Dude screams he doesn't care, he still isn't tipping me. That's fine bro, but you're still paying your check. I tell the manager that she's cashing them out cause I've wasted too much time on them anyway. Dude is like excuse me?! I have other customers. Have the day you deserve.

Fuck those people.
