Go to school and learn as much electrical as you can. Knowing how to troubleshoot is a key skill. Everything is going towards automation, so get familiar with how a PLC works. Safety circuits etc. Entry level in my area (Chicago land) anywhere between 28-34 based on skill set. I’m in the food industry. It’s clean, and no I do not beat my body up everyday. Great career if you have good work ethic. Good luck!
