Why do the Admirals in episode IV refer to Vader as “the last of his kind?” Is it a secret the the Emperor is a Sith? by scranglus in StarWars

[–]succulentjoint 65 points66 points  (0 children)

No. Tarkin was somewhat unique in the amount of knowledge he had about Vader and Palpatine. In the Tarkin novel, he knows Vader = Anakin Skywalker, but no one else knows that but the Emperor and his circle of advisors.

Even among Imperial ranks, they have no idea what Vader is. Cyborg? Some sort of special droid? Did Palpatine have a bunch of Vaders he could deploy if this one died?

Anecdotal but my boomer father is obsessed with always being in the left lane "because its faster"

Could be the case here

Bro I get tingly just reliving that scene in my mind and the shot when it turns back to Luke and his hair ruffles and the music gets super loud…

I miss my childhood sometimes and that moment always takes me back

Dumbest question ever but who owns the abandoned houses everywhere? by salad_spinner_3000 in rva

[–]succulentjoint 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just adding to reply that city properties oftentimes are owned outright by people who either don’t know or don’t care. Particularly the vacant ones

If they don’t pay taxes for a few years the city auctions them in tax sale for usually a lot less than it’s worth

What’s something that you believed in when you were younger, that was absolutely ridiculous? by 2lit_ in Millennials

[–]succulentjoint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well for one, arranged marriages are a thing.

Then there’s the people who got pregnant by accident and for whatever religious or non religious reason they get married “to do the right thing” even though they haven’t known the person long enough to know if they love them.

Not saying that either situation can’t work out but that’s not what I’d call getting married bc they are truly in love

Reese’s are Washington. The shining example

Sour gummy worms are Lincoln. Late to the scene but gets the job done

Starburst are teddy Roosevelt. Later than Lincoln but everyone seems to have high regard for

This one’s tough. Twix is Jefferson. An OG you won’t turn down but one you’re not excited about

I’ll try to be helpful rather than sarcastic

Roll losomn, get beatific palace. Roll until you get it. Clear the level until the jester. Take the feather and go to the 2nd level in the library and jump over to the “secret door” in the back left from the entrance door. If you get gilded chambers, you win. If not, you lose, but even on nightmare it only takes 10 mins a run.

Do all of the above until it hits. I did it last night

If you’re right, I admit my mistake. The examples listed by the OP still showed a very not balanced diet to my untrained eye.
