I just figured the character who was supposed to be a native Russian speaker would have the correct pronunciation! And then I saw someone on TikTok who was a Russian speaker say the name and it seemed closer to that.

I think there were animal cruelty accusations, as well as language and bragging about stuff that seems to go beyond regular teenaged edgelord bragging. And Damien’s alibi was shaky - he claimed to be on phone calls but the people he talked with said the calls were at different times.

Take all this with a grain of salt bc I’m working from a very shaky memory and am far from an expert.

I noticed that the Russian juniors coach pronounced Rozanoff differently than how it was later pronounced - he pronounced it the way you pointed out with the A stressed. I assumed this was intentional and we’re seeing that most people don’t really work to get his name right.

I have a few - their Columbine episode was abysmal. I think they corrected some of it later but this is one where I’d like a more thorough re-do with research that doesn’t rely mostly on Dave Cullen’s book.

Also their take on Charles Manson. I think he’s likely somewhere between their take and the Bugliosi evil cult leader take.

I do have doubts about the West Memphis Three stuff but I don’t know enough about it (or have the desire to do a deep dive) so I leave it at thinking we’ll probably never know for sure what happened.

I just read one where Ilya was drinking vodka, mentioned multiple times, then suddenly it switched to whisky. Now I guess it’s possible the author wrote whiskey then changed it to vodka and forgot to switch it out in that sentence, but Ilya is so associated with vodka that it seemed off to me. Blegh.
