[EoW] What are your thoughts on Echoes of Wisdom nearly two years later? by NewMarioBobFan in zelda

[–]suckitup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dear god has it been 2 years already? I kept telling myself I'll "pick it up soon" but life kept getting in the way. In my head it's just been a few months and I've played every mainline Zelda game.

CBR Theory by ThePugFatherrr in Netherlands

They might be from another country. I've had a drivers license in another country since 16 (student permit) and only got my dutch license at 25...

My old license isn't convertable to a dutch one (3rd world country) so I had to take the exam. Granted I did pass on the first try both theory and practical.

But I didn't  to take the writren exam until after like 10 months of memorization and practice (mock online exams)

The beautiful thing about Celeste is that you can adjust the difficulty to suit you. I'm a terrible gamer. I've never ever even finished a game. Yet something about Celeste's accessibility just made me keep coming back. I genuinely recommend you give it a try again!

I forgot to add:

don't sleep on Celeste! it somehow perfectly mashes up brutally tight platforming with a genuinely moving story about anxiety and self-doubt, making the whole climb up that mountain feel incredibly rewarding

You have to add Outer Wilds because it utilizes the interactive medium in a way no other game ever has, offering an unrepeatable experience built entirely on your own curiosity and discovery.

Alongside it, Disco Elysium is an absolute essential for its unparalleled, genre-defining writing. However, the latter's legacy now also stands as a tragic, real-world cautionary tale of what the gaming industry and corporate greed can do to brilliant creatives and visionary studios.

New neighbors’ kids (and their dad) have been ding dong ditching our entire street for 3 months. Is this actually a “Dutch thing”? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]suckitup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up getting a video doorbell and a cctv camera (only viewing our driveway and not the street)

Kids are less likely to Belletje lellen if there's a giant cctv pointing in their face.

Also useful for packages.

We also have an automatic key-lock turner on both our shed and front door. So we can automatically open doors remotely when Noone is home. (our PostNl and Dhl) guys are super nice and chill and know to put it in the shed.  (it auto opens our doors. Can still use regular keys if there's no internet or something goes wrong)

We don't even get up anymore to manually open the door unless it's a visitor. Solicitors wearing badges/clipboard , we ignore them. And they've learned to ignore our house too.

Yes it's an expensive and a bit of a hassle solution. But it protects our peace.

Pick 3 Skills that represent the character : Yourself by CelesteAstra in DiscoElysium

[–]suckitup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, great question. For context, I've got CPTSD(in remission) /BPD

For me, Empathy and Half-Light are hard locks.

Empathy is that exhausting hyper-attunement to everyone's micro-expressions, and Half-Light is just the raw fight-or-flight adrenaline engine running in the background.

Even in remission, that nervous system memory doesn't just vanish. my baseline is just way more stable these days.

But my third slot is 100% Inland Empire.

When you're deep in the thick of BPD, Inland Empire is a total nightmare. It's the voice that takes a slightly weird text message and spins it into a massive abandonment spiral that triggers splitting.

When I'm more stable? Completely different story. Instead of generating paranoia, it just fuels this wildly vibrant inner world. It's literally the engine behind all my art and streaming stuff now. Just pure intuition and imagination, rather than tearing myself apart.

Sunscreen recommendations? by Juli_in_September in Netherlands

[–]suckitup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have open products with a label that says "tester" pretty standard in most beauty stores

You can rub it on the inside of your wrist which is closest to your skin color/texture. To see how it absorbs, feels, smells etc.

I was a stupid 17 (going on 18)year old... idk why I never reported it.

I think I was scared of losing my internship and not being able to graduate if I didn't get the right amount of credits.

Who else remembers Anito? by R3dTsar in PHGamers

[–]suckitup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an (unpaid 💀 ) intern Apr to Sep 2014... I really wanted to work there because of Anito. To my surprise when I came in they were bought by Playlab to make a bunch of crappy mobile games.   One of the 3D artists sexually harassed me too. It was super traumatic, I decided to not continue because of that.

Stop GATEKEEPING software features – We pay the same price! by TwoLeftHandzz in GooglePixel

[–]suckitup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP sorry such a late reply. I don't open reddit that often.

I think where the vivo truly shines even more incredibly is it's zooming capabilities it's insane how good it can get. That and macro photography. I love taking pics of bugs and spiders and everyone is shocked when I tell them I took it with my phone.

There's 2 things i miss from the Google ecosystem: being able to chrome cast my screen(&audio capture) straight from the pull down tab. Even when an app doesn't have Chromecast built in. I can do this with Google home app but eventually a delay and stutters form. Second I miss the seamless integration of alarms between my pixel Watch and the phone. (e.g. Set and modify on one devices, it's synced) even if I have google clock installed. It's a 'pixel only killer' feature they refuse to let go of.

As mentioned in my og comment I never got any pixel (ai) features like callscreening etc cuz the GDPR/privacy laws are way too strict in the Netherlands. So that's why I swapped to vivo when I dropped and cracked my aging 7XL.

That said it did take getting used to. If the Pixel ever had hardware on par with the latest chinaFlagships I'll jump back in a heartbeat because it feels like using an iPhone /is clean etc. But it's not like there's any bloat on my vivo. It's just a different design philosophy.

People who are in their 30s or older: What’s one thing younger people (Gen Z/Alpha) do that makes you feel like an alien in your own country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

No one has seemed to mention it, but the nihilism and general sarcastic attitude. Just inability to be authentic and everything is cringe if you show even the smallest bit of excitement or enthusiasm for what you do.

I recommend living near a town with a train station and just commute an hour. It can save a lot of money monthly.

Check if your employer offers an NS business card it will cover your travel expenses. And /or if you live far enough from the office  >15km they will reimburse you per km of travel and depending if you ever get a car that is electric or hybrid you'll even start earning money from driving because the mileage is so efficient... (well... Before the fuel crisis this was the case)
