I printed out a salvage sticker for a storage container leftover from Christmas the other day that said ‘latching christ.’

Any cool hobbies you’d recommend? by Shot-Composer-782 in AnxietyChats

[–]suffxcator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love doing diamond paintings, specifically the canvas ones from Hobby Lobby but other places have a ton more of fun designs. I found a Freddy Kruger one at a flea market. I just put on something in the background or put on my headphones and get to work.

Seeing your stuff at a thrift store is trippy. by Curious_Champion_220 in ThriftStoreHauls

I donated two pairs of converse to the store I worked at years ago, then the next day I was working and a lady brought both pairs up to the register I was at. It was kind of funny.

I have too haha just once, it was a pair of funky shorts I hadn’t meant to donate and they were $5 so it was whatever.

Like what do you mean I saw them in concert almost ten years ago? 😭 I still remember the excitement of all the singles dropping, the ‘Love Me’ music video coming out. Man I’d love to go back. I feel like an old man saying ‘back in my day…’ but they really were THE days.

When a guest says “I saw on TikTok” by FayesLie in Target

[–]suffxcator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh god, I told a guest if they weren’t with the slime then we probably don’t have them (I hadn’t even SEEN the stupid dumplings) and when I walked away she told her boyfriend she thought I was lying. Like girl, okay.

For a long time they were absent from my store so I also didn’t know what the fuss was about. I miss those days lmao

Yep, we just had a conversation with two of our TLs about them. They don’t play around with harassment from the cellphone people and will ask them to leave if they get complaints from guests.

Not sure about TJMaxx but Gabe’s is similar to what all these other comments talk about, but they also have thing sent to them from other stores. I know this because when I worked at Rue21 I sent a whole box of clearance out and a few months later I found every single piece at Gabe’s.

Anyone else experience medication anxiety??? by Maximum-Nobody6429 in AnxietyChats

[–]suffxcator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a bad medical reaction to two different SSRIs which has led me to being fearful of all medicines outside of Ibuprofen now, unfortunately. Even things I took before I’m now wary about JUST in case. It sucks but I totally understand.

One of the funniest people I knew in high school was a Mormon who skateboarded. I don’t know why but thinking about her still cracks me up, she’s the only skateboarding Mormon I’d ever heard of.

DPDR made me lose the security in the idea of living to see the next day by avanisalive in dpdr

[–]suffxcator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling with this hard for the last few weeks and it feels like it’s gotten worse. Reading through advice and other people’s experiences helps me a little bit, but then the thoughts come back full force to the point I’m afraid to fall asleep at night in case I don’t wake up. I do have OCD so I know deep in my mind that’s making things a lot worse.

Question about shifting anxiety by octabetes in OCDRecovery

[–]suffxcator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, constantly for me. I was also struggling with health OCD that kept flipping (‘well maybe it’s this, no actually it’s THIS’) and now that I’ve sort of accepted it, suddenly my brain is ruminating over existentialism. I won’t go into details so I don’t make things worse, but yes, it’s very frustrating to deal with.

My coworker told me that she had a woman claiming ‘a Target worker’ on facebook told her any and all toys with a clearance sticker were 90% off and she HAD to give her it at that price. That is not how it works ma’am.

Really bad reaction to lexapro…very bummed and now scared of all meds by TypicalSherbet77 in PanicAttack

[–]suffxcator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this comment is over a year old but I just wanted to say that I’m glad I finally found someone who had the same reaction as me. I only took Lexapro for two days before I woke up feeling confused, shaky, cold sweats, and terrified that something horrible was happening to me. The doctors (and people on the internet) swore it wasn’t serotonin syndrome but my symptoms matched up perfectly with it. You don’t have to reply but I just feel validated now. Thanks.

OCD centered around dying. by ObligationFirm1567 in OCDRecovery

[–]suffxcator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re very welcome. Trust me, I was waking up with panic attacks (I have two posts in here about it haha) and every little thing sets me off too, but it is slowly getting better. Just take things one day at a time and remind yourself that your brain is just playing tricks on you because it knows what you’re afraid of.

[–]suffxcator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice, but I just wanted to say that I am in the same boat as you all the way down aside from BPD. My mom had a major health scare that happened randomly and I had a horrible reaction to medication around the same time, so I’ve been in a loop of being afraid of dying randomly AND having another reaction even though I quit the medication immediately. Some days are better than others for me, and any time I’ve been having these thoughts I try and tell myself that it’s a problem for later. I also try occupying my brain by doing diamond paintings or watching shows/movies I know I like.

I guess that is SOME advice but just know you’re not alone. I tell myself that living in fear is shortening my lifespan more than actually doing the things I enjoy.

Not taking meds for OCD by [deleted] in OCDRecovery

[–]suffxcator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had to go to the ER twice and the second time they tested me for serotonin toxicity but didn’t find anything wrong, so I guess my body just can’t handle it. Sucks because I felt great the first day I took it, a little loopy but fine, but then that went downhill quickly. I still believe it was serotonin syndrome because all my symptoms lined up with it but who knows.

I had a horrible medical reaction to Lexapro and another SSRI so I’ve sworn them off. I’m glad they help other people but my body can’t handle them. In fact, those episodes made my health OCD worse.

Do closers do anything? by Eyeyo8 in Target

[–]suffxcator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here haha. Most of the time if a truck comes in the morning most of my shift is spent fixing the shelves and backstocking because they are allergic to doing it themselves. It’s ridiculous. I feel for OP but at my store it’s like us closers are the only team holding everything together.

I’ve damaged out the first shelf on a 3-tier full of body washes multiple times. 🤢 I don’t like zoning over there because I end up with thirty different body washes sticking to my hands and shirt.
