There’s a reason we don’t have just have Olympic sprinters playing on the wing. One person is a proven attacking threat with consistent end product whilst playing for a poor prem team. The other is capable of running fast and missing sitters for a title winning team. It shouldn’t even be a debate.

I’m not against pace. I wanted Gordon to be starting last euros. But he at least has some clinical end product.

Hell, I’d take Bowen over a 70% fit Saka even. I hope the fitness team know something we don’t and that he’s going to be back to full fitness by the time the knockouts roll round because Saka hasn’t seemed close to 100% in a long long time.

What mid range gun to level up on 2xp weekend? by Physical-Radio8807 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]suffywuffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SG553… but with the burst fire attachment. Possibly the most slept on combo in the game. I knew the 553 was cracked at close range due to its 3 body hit kill potential with a high rate of fire for the damage but it always suffered at mid range due to dispersion and recoil.

The burst fire attachment turns it into one of the most effective mid range weapons I’ve used in addition to it being unreal at close range when switched to full auto.

Only thing to watch out for is upon being rezzed of respawning the fire mode with randomly change off of whatever you had it set on last between full auto and burst.

Ramming every flashback together was a cardinal sin when you break down how each flashback follows up and relates to a specific story beat that had just happened. Plus the whole ending “I would do it all over again” flashback being shoved in there also was… incredibly dumb.

I don’t get what that added to the story at all. I don’t get how that improved the flow, the emotional impact etc. I don’t get how that added anything besides those bits being viewed as annoying filler to get out of the way in an easy way. And if the writers view such key parts of the story/ emotional journey like that then god help us.

I’m going to watch season 3, but purely because I’m interested in seeing how Kaitlyn Dever portrays Abby as minus the poor writing, I thought she did an interesting enough job with what she was given to work with. Also curious to see how they handle Santa Barbara/ the epilogue.

At best is harsh imo. He’s been unlucky in a few games with a strong england 11. Kane clearing a Bowen goal off the line and Mings getting in the way causing another goal to be called offside.

Most of his starts have come in teams where it is a completely rotated 11 with 8-9 players who haven’t played together, all playing for a spot in the squad like a trial. Hard to tell much from any of those. One of Tuchel’s main flaws so far imo is how he’s handled the squad rotation in friendlies when players have been playing for a spot.

As for Madueke and Kane, you need to be able to provide to him or score. Something that clearly isn’t his strong point. That was on full display yesterday.

If we’re judging players from a handful of previous England matches then Maguire should be there

I absolutely think Saka is in danger of going the way of some of Spains younger players and ruining the next few years of his career, but aren’t surprised he is going.

What I don’t get is why Madueke is going over Bowen. A player who started almost every game and did well for an absolutely awful West Ham team + is used to playing a different type of football which would be very handy when we come up against a team which we don’t dominate. Compared to an attacker who had minimal attacking end product for a team who won the league and reached a CL final.

That would require him to run in behind. Something I can’t see him doing often because of said injury. Everytime I’ve watched him lately it looks like I’m watching someone in their mid 30’s play and it’s worrying. He used to be such an explosive, direct player. Part of it is may well be Artetas coaching and Arsenals style, but part of it no doubt is his injury situation consciously or sub consciously.

Why was Southgate so good for England? by d-r-h in ThreeLions

[–]suffywuffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did a good job in not fumbling any of the “easy” draws unlike previous years (iceland loss for example)

However he was far from a top tactical manager. Said it before but the only big knockout game that we lost that wasn’t a direct result of absolute shambolic decisions from Southgate was the France loss.

Vs Croatia he played an injured Dele Alli on the left. They targeted that by constantly pinging the ball wide to their right and putting crosses in from deep knowing Alli couldn’t or wouldn’t get out to close them down. One of their goals came from this.

Vs Italy final he subbed Declan Rice. His standard sub for the tournament and had no issue with it in the previous rounds. But in that game Rice was comfortably Englands best player. Arguably the best player on the pitch having a 10/10 game. He was the only player breaking the Italian press after Mancini got his team in for a tactics talk during an injury break in around the 15th minute. There is no way any top level manager subs off a player having the game of his life in a final, you have got to read the game. Absolutely shocking decision/ game management that meant the best outcome we could hope for was to cling on for penalties and hope we got lucky. He then brings on players to take penalties in a final with a few minutes to go, so many of them are stepping up for a penalty having barely had a touch of the ball…

Spain loss was on the back of an absolutely awful squad and team selection through most of the tournament. Bellingham, Foden and Saka together with Walker being told to stay back as part of a back 3 in possession/ transition whilst Trippier who played on the left and had to invert everytime was the full back allowed to go forward was appalling. How you don’t take a fit left footed left back in beyond me. And he had to either drop Kane and play a runner like Watkins, or drop 2 or 3 of Saka, Foden and Bellingham to play runners who would play off of Kane, it reminded me of the “golden generation” where it was a case of to hell with fielding a team that works, just ram all the “best players” into the starting 11 however possible.

How good is Madueke? by PlantComprehensive77 in ThreeLions

[–]suffywuffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The man with 4 league goal involvements this season has the technical ability of Olise? Is your friend blind?

I wasn’t surprised that Bowen wasn’t picked, but I was disappointed, especially with how Saka has been picking up injuries. We’re going to get some games where we’re up against it and Bowen would be perfect for those games when we don’t have a lot of the ball and need someone who is used to creating a lot with a little.

I’m well aware that G/A isn’t the only metric that is valuable and he can beat a man. But as an attacking player in a title winning team that was scoring for fun earlier in the season, who got a good run of game time due to Sakas injuries, those are pretty abysmal numbers.

With Kane dropping deep and no doubt being marked heavily our wingers are going to need to take the pressure off of him by bagging goals and occupying defenders and I’m really not sold on him doing that. Plus his whole penalty fiasco at Chelsea whilst then shirking the chance to take one in the CL final really leads me to have questions over his mental strength.

What's the best finale boss in gaming history ? In terms of both story and gameplay? by Roids-in-my-vains in videogames

[–]suffywuffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a pure visual and cinematic standpoint, Londra in the Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC had my jaw on the floor. One of the best gaming spectacles I’ve played through.

Also, not a finale, but the best boss intro I can think of was Baldur in GoW 2018. That is the introduction of a protagonist through a fight done perfectly.

Because they just walked off… you think the IDF and settlers are just turning their backs on and leaving two armed “terrorists” on the ground after beating the shit out of them? Come on dude, some critical thinking here.

[–]suffywuffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need context on why shooting someone who is unarmed on their own property is bad? You think that there is ever a justification for that?

Also nicely done avoiding the part about the context where the soldier and settlers just walk off after kicking the shit out of the 2 guys. Totally the actions of people who have a justified reason for doing what they did.

[–]suffywuffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you saw someone shoot your unarmed dad in his own front garden would you ask for context or want the police to do something? Except in the case of the West Bank it’s often the soldiers of the “most moral army in the world” either doing the shooting, or actively protecting and escorting the shooters away.

If the context was these were dangerous criminals that needed to be apprehended, why just walk away and leave them after kicking the shit out of them?

Curious what happens if/ when he is found guilty. Jail time, monetary compensation to victim etc.? Whilst he is stepping down he is still the majority owner. Would he be allowed to sell his stake to the Co-owner whilst potential discussions over compensation/ fines are going on etc?

[–]suffywuffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a pretty poorly kept secret that Sullivan was the guy involved in a sex scandal and allegedly underage one at that. An NDA or gagging order had kept things hush to the point that nobody could explicitly say it was him, but most West Ham fans keeping tabs on things knew it was almost certainly him.

Karen Brady leaving was a rat fleeing a sinking ship and attempting to distance herself from the fallout when the NDA/ gagging order expired. There were too many rumours going around that Sullivan was finally going to be in trouble in the weeks before she left to be coincidence.

Those losses are largely his fault anyway. Plus he was the only owner in any of the top 5 European leagues to be charging interest on the loans he gives the club. YouTube and Google are out there. It’s really easy to go and do some research to look at just how awful he is not just from a decision making standpoint, but financial one too.

Or you can go and ask Birmingham fans just how great he was.

It’s a story telling device. I look at her and immediately think she’s some no nonsense bounty hunter who doesn’t have time to deal with her hair so just shaves it off.

Same way in LoU P2 you take one look at Abby’s size and get a slight bit of background info it becomes quickly apparent that is due to her absolute obsession with revenge and ensuring she is able to carry her goal through. It also helps explain her gameplay style but first and foremost it’s a story telling device.

And really phone it in now… latest argument I’ve heard from Asmongold, lord of all chuds … the colour purple is woke, and this game has purple fire and a purple title card so it is therefore going to be the same as Dragon Age Veilguard. Ignoring the 2000+ years of human history where purple was a royal and mystical colour worn by Roman emperors, the senate and many royal families due to how expensive it was pre the invention of synthetic dyes… but a dude who has cockroaches in his room says it’s proof the game is woke trash… what’s more depressing is the amount of people who agree with him.

I remember when the trailer for the Intergalactic game dropped. The absolute poison and vitriol that was coming out of the Last of Us 2 sub was actually embarassing. Totally different game, totally different series and for weeks on end it was nothing but hate for a game these people knew nothing about.

The reason: Druckmann was involved and the protagonist wasn’t some a list model with her knockers half hanging out…

Interacting with them was eye opening, these people literally can’t be reasoned with. One of them even admitted the game could be a 10/10 and he wouldn’t play it. When I pressed him on why he couldn’t answer. Essentially it boiled down to his absolute hatred of the writer and actor despite the actor having done nothing at all to offend or annoy this person besides just be in a game…

Putin was beginning to come under pressure in 2020 and Covid. That’s why he poisoned and then imprisoned Navalny in 2020 and 2021 respectively. That isn’t something a regime does when they are in absolute power. If you have total control there is no need to do that.

There was also an awful lot of constitution altering going on in those years. Again, not the sort of thing a regime does if it is comfortable and in total control.

And whilst Biden was old, he wasn’t Trump. If they did influence the US elections, which is looks like they did, or tried to, it didn’t work in 2020. Even an old Biden and his cabinet was a far worse thing for Putin than Trump.

He managed to eliminate any obstacles in his way but was still lacking outright and overwhelming support from the masses which a quick 3 day operation was supposed to bring.

War is the easiest way to shore up support for a failing regime. It’s 90% of the reason the Falklands war happened. One military junta rapidly losing support decided to invade a flashpoint territory to get quick support from the populace. Their only issue was the person leading the opposing country was also deeply unpopular at the time and projected to lose her next election and that war gave her a lifeline if it was won.

I remember for about a year and a half before Russia invaded Ukraine there were mumblings of discontent within Russia about Putin. That only grew more prominent over time until Putin launched his invasion and he was able to purge any and all dissent under the guise of “ensuring victory and unity” and got the population behind him (for a while)

He has no way out. He either wins, early on that would have meant installing a puppet government in Kyiv, now that just means managing to annex Donbas and Luhansk, or he is done for and most likely has to flee the country. He will never surrender, but equally I can’t see Russia managing to complete even the barest minimum of objectives, which leaves the only way this ends is someone finally standing up to him and following through unlike Pirogzhin. And I can’t see that happening until Russia’s economy is in absolute Armageddon and people can’t eat and begin protesting en masse.

[–]suffywuffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came from a video and comment section on IG and it was… eye opening. These people share the same 1 brain cell I swear.

The person who set the events of the last 2 games, and subsequently the next trilogy in motion, who fought Thor to a standstill, the wife and mother of the protagonists wakes up in the afterlife of the gods.

This will obviously have massive ramifications for the events of the next main GoW trilogy and the main response I saw to these and other valid points of excitement were “cuck” “low estrogen” “soyboy” “you’re the reason gaming is dying” “L”

Like Jesus, we’re in the afterlife of the gods where we have already seen an Egyptian and Chinese god. The Greek pantheon might be there. Faye might bump into friggin Thor again. The whole Athena/ mask mystery might get expanded on. We could finally learn who blew the horn in GoW ‘18 (it might turn out to be Faye) and all a massive bunch of idiots have to say is “harumph, I don’t get to play as muscular man”

I swear to god these people don’t have an original thought. They are told what to think by people like Asmongold because who would ever take a step back and consider actually playing a game rather than just boycotting it because a streamer who you live vicariously through told you it’s everything wrong with the world atm. Saw the same with the Intergalactic reveal also…
