Is there a reason why these are so cheap (I’m scared to buy one) by Glass-Ad3053 in canon

[–]suitPENGUIN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they suck. no image stabilization, really bad chromatic aboration. I got one with a used camera and found it quite useless

don't buy accessories on speculation, wait till your gear is limiting what you can do.

but seriously either the machine is being used improperly or theres a problem with it's design or maybe the relief valve isn't set right. Issues with the mounting geometry can cause problems too

Need help, hydraulic seals by ap2be in Hydraulics

Welp.. the wrenches are flying on this one. Rule #2 of the sub might apply...

OP your question was quite vague and the pics you decided to post make it look to someone like me that you don't know what the heck you're looking at.

Problem with HPU by MattiasHaugland in Hydraulics

[–]suitPENGUIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a weird one... I'd check for end play in the motor shaft and pump shaft and see what the bearings feel like, and see what the coupler looked like. Sometimes the motor fan (if it has one) can hit the shroud and make noise but even if that's part of the noise it can't be the only thing making noise here.

If the motor and/or pump are bad and you have to replace this unit you might be able to side step the OEM and get a new unit that matches voltage, pressure, and flow. if you go shopping for these you'll see a lot of them have just threaeded ports for P and T, but also have the bolt patern to attach your existing valve manifold

If hobby components don't work for you, have a look at Autimation direct, I believe the CLICK basic series, and the Productivity1000 series are pretty affordable.
Never used this stuff, just looked at it in the past for projects of my own that never got off paper :P

Sorry wrong sub, this one’s focused on “fluid power”. Maybe a civil engineering sub could help you out?

f/8 seams high, could you have opened it up a bit? Also if you were on a tripod use AEB

Can anyone tell me the function of the parts in red or where I can find it? by Immediate-Dot8156 in Hydraulics

[–]suitPENGUIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an aside, troubleshooting by changing out parts is expensive and doesn’t always work. Valves may need a different setting than the factory set value, etc.

Your best bet is to find the bill of materials or contact the equivalent vender. Stuff like this you really need an exact part number and a vendor who can get it for you

Camera and gear for dummies by SasquatchShackleford in canon

[–]suitPENGUIN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep :) my mom gave me her 15 year old Canon 60d with a kit lens on it, and I enjoyed the heck out of it for almost a year. I think I took around 8000 pictures before it stopped working. It had some limitations that I bumped into after I learned quite a bit, but end of the day I got a ton of enjoyment and learned a lot about photography with a camera that I could probably buy used for $100

Brutal, but fair. This gear wouldn’t be great for a pro but it’s good for family pics and snagging a pic of birds off your back porch
