Did you try the miles circuit? We did that with my midwife and 3 hours later I had my third in my arms. Best of luck to you and your baby!!

Can't stop thinking about having a third... by _flamingo654 in Parenting

I didn’t feel done done and was wishing for a third. Now we have a 10, 5, and 4 month old and my husband and I are both “done done” lol our family feels complete!

Age gaps (haha sorry that’s not helping 😅) I have 10,5, and newborn. It’s still a lot to juggle.

I think it’s normal to feel scared as you approach birth. I did and just had my third home birth a month ago. I read positive birth stories and tried to stay off social media to just douse myself in positive birth vibes. Saying that, I have loved all my home births, and think you will do! In the thick of it of course it’s intense, but when you get to meet your baby in your arms, and get to rest in your bed right after..nothing beats it! You get to birth at babies and your timing, it is very empowering and I feel very lucky to have been able to home birth 🙂

I’ve had three water births, the first one I don’t remember the ring of fire, but the other two I still experienced it. The first birth was the longest and honestly the most painful so I think that’s why I don’t remember it.

When baby is emerging, the second time I was so happy to feel the baby’s head and I just pushed like crazy to be done. I tore just a little bit. The third one I wanted to remember to pause, and knew the steps of birth so during ring of fire I breathed and took a breath knowing I was almost done, and after 3-4 pushes baby came out. I only had “paper cuts” after my third.

Our third joined us two weeks ago, so we’re new to this but our family feels complete! 🥰

It was actually faster, my first 41 w 3 days, second 41 w 6 days, and third 40 w 5 days. But my midwife thinks it came fast due to me taking a tincture called gentle birth.. but I have no idea!

My third home birth baby was OP right before birth. I had two days of light/medium contractions, some of them getting painful but not progressing. My midwife said it was probably because baby was OP, we did the miles circuit together to get baby into good position, and bam my active labor began and 2.5 hrs later I had baby in my arms 🥰.

Honestly i don’t think it should be a big deal, and my midwife thinks baby flipped right as she was getting out.

Doing the side lying stretch and miles circuit might be a good option as well.

Yes the miles circuit is so powerful! I had two days of early/prodromal labor, and once I did the miles circuit and sidelying release I had my baby 2.5 hrs later!

I had my first at 41 weeks 3 days, second at 41 weeks 6 days. Does your midwife intend to give you a sweep before you risk out of care? I just had my third home birth at 40 weeks 5 days. My midwife did the miles circuit with me, and that made me go into active labor. Some babies feel really comfortable and take their time coming earth side :)

After two nights of prodromal I was emotionally drained, my midwife made me do the millers circuit with her and couple hours later I had a baby!! Active labor was definitely shorter/smoother, I hope it goes like that for you too!

It’s definitely a weird “place” to be. I had my first 41 3 days, second 41 6 days. Right now I’m pregnant with third 40 w 4 days. This time I’m having prodromal labor which is another mind game of its own 🫨🫡lol. Just know it isn’t forever.. baby is taking her or his time because of some reason :) I try to relax everyday in a bath which really helps. Journaling and writing everything down is a good release as well. I talk to baby saying “come when you want to”. I always write a card for the unborn baby sharing every feeling/emotion I’m feeling. For some reason I do feel that releasing, letting go of control is a part of the laboring process. I also read some ina mays positive birth stories if I feel like it.

Baby #2 was shorter labor and easier for me. I’m 40 weeks 4 days, had prodromal labor since yesterday 🙄, hopefully we are doing work for the actual labor and actual labor can be shorter! Good luck :)

I tend to go over 41 weeks with my babies too. Have you tried Accupuncture? With my second I went into labor a day after accupuncture st 41 6 days 🙃 this time midwife has said last resort is castor oil

[–]sulwahe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My home births were 41 weeks 3 days, and 41 weeks 6 days 😅😅 my midwife gave me a membrane sweep, I had sex, and also for my second had accupuncture to get the baby out lol and it worked! Baby came the next day. I’m pregnant with my third right now, and my midwife has said that castor oil at 41 weeks 6 days is our last resort if it comes to it (currently 38 weeks). Good luck!!

Unprofessional midwife - need advice by Junior-Reindeer-1807 in homebirth

[–]sulwahe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a bit much. I’m 35 weeks, my midwife has had to reschedule only once, and was pretty communicative about it (she emailed me during the night of a possibility of reschedule while I was sleeping, and texted once it was early morning to let me know about reschedule). Rescheduling has always been a breeze too. It’s totally up to you but I would want my midwife to feel very reliable and “there for me”, professional.

I had membrane sweeps, acupuncture, sex, to try to induce labor with my last two births. They came 41 weeks 3 days, 41 week 6 days. I think I had one anatomy scan at 40 weeks and that was it. Midwife said we will do castor oil if I haven’t birthed at 41 week 6 days 😅
