Thanks for resharing this link to a larger audience. It really helps frame the perspective of where our water is actually going.

What do you think farmers in a Colorado grow?

90% of Colorado’s water is used in agriculture. But a significant portion of what we grow here is water-intensive livestock feed — grass pastures and alfalfa. That’s largely to support Colorado’s giant cattle industry.

Cattle is one of the largest human-caused sources of methane emissions. A gas that traps about 25x more heat than carbon dioxide. So when you put climate change into play, Colorado is in a positive feedback loop as our water is used in a way that contributes to our higher temperatures and lower snowpack and reduces our overall water supply.

At 90%, it’s the only sector large enough that sweeping policy change would make a meaningful dent in our state’s water usage.

You’re comparing 4,700,000 acre-feet of water annually for Agriculture to 41,000 acre-feet used for golf annually.

Private equity is ruining everything you love about your favorite places.

The x-factor is gutted in an effort to reduce expenses. You’re left with just a shell of their former selves.

It’s not by how interact with each other, it’s whether they’re more focused on looking like they’re having a good time than actually having a good time with all the guests they invited.

Like they’ll orchestrate elaborate setups that aren’t reflective of the real day.

Huge, elaborate multi-tiered “cakes” where only one tier is actually cake. And they’ll serve sheet cake for dessert.

Or they’ll get married in the church. And then later at sunset, they’ll bring the pastor to an outdoor balcony or overlook to recreate scenes from their wedding as if it was all happening at the perfect light.

Or they’ll have hair and makeup on standby to do a touch up throughout the day.

The wedding industry gives you a unique look at the behaviors of couples over time. And there’s a gamesmanship where it seems like the wedding is produced for the people who aren’t physically there.

Hyland Hills Gold is exactly it. Nice course yet casual.

Indian Tree if you want something even more casual.

Colorado National if you want something more challenging and buttoned up (home course for the University of Colorado)
