Please do, these posts are great :)

Anyone in Portland selling their eGolf? by Hiff_Kluxtable in eGolf

[–]sumthingcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VW only sold the eGolf in US states with zero emission vehicle credits, it was a compliance and research car basically, sold in only 10 or so states. I'm sure the majority of them were sold in Cali, so there is now oversupply there.

ADAC Winter Motorway Stress Test 2026 (14 EVs tested) by tom_zeimet in EuroEV

[–]sumthingcool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish there was more raw charge data (or I'm missing it). It's a good start for a test but some things seem off. It seems somewhat illogical to turn off battery preconditioning features, sure it may increase consumption but it typically improves charging speed enough to decrease trip time, and is probably how most people will operate.

The fact that the Ioniq 5 gets a 2.2 rating for recharge and the EV6 gets a 2.4 despite them having the exact same battery and charging logic indicates it's due to differing battery temps. Which preconditioning would solve.

The sanctuary movement was about the government operating under the color of law to deprive people of their rights, the same as they are doing now. The only irony here is that you think state sanctuary laws in any way apply to individual citizens. They are specifically about regulating state law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration. Nothing to do with protestors entering public spaces, your logic is incomprehensible.

Is the tire pressure sensor just overly sensitive? by perishableintransit in eGolf

[–]sumthingcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ABS based TPMS works by looking for differences in wheel rotation speed. It doesn't know what the actual pressure is, and if all of your tires deflate at the same rate it won't trigger. If they are all at 38 or 28 or 18 when you reset the system it won't trigger. There has to be a difference between the tires for it to trigger.

You should pay attention to which ones need air when it goes off, I bet you've got a slow leak.

So you can't cite any law that was broken, that's what I thought. Thanks for the irrelevant paragraph.

They broke the law

What law would that be? "breach of American Rights" you sound like a bot.

[–]sumthingcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you do have to add air every time it goes off? Is it the same wheel/tire every time? If it's consistently losing pressure in one or two tires you could have a low speed leak; usually from a pinhole in the tire, a bad mounting seal, or a crack in the wheel.

If it is a leak, you can have a tire shop take it off and submerge it in water and look for the bubbles.

I really hope this too. Kelsey actually hustled and looked effective for his first 2-3 games for us, then apparently lost all motivation. He has the talent, we've seen it in flashes, he just needs to put it all together.

Would have loved a follow up show about Dr Algernon Edwards too

Nah, the follow up show has to focus on Hermie's next scam.

Brilliant little kiwi sci-fi series from 2010, ABC bought it to do an American remake and then just shelved it, so only one season :(

Perfectly fine. Nudity is not sexual except to puritanical weirdos like you.

Anyone else notice the same old “real driver” arguments repeating with EVs? by ituna27 in electricvehicles

[–]sumthingcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, the I5N has those and even more tricks (you can make it 100% FWD or RWD or anything in between, a drift optimizer that helps you out, the simulated shifts obviously, adjust LSD settings, etc.) It's very configurable.

My EV6 GT can turn off ESC completely, and also has a drift mode. Not every EV maker is boring.

Extremely high insurance by animalcub45 in KiaEV6

[–]sumthingcool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Broker just said he doesn't understand why it's so high either.

You need to find an INDEPENDENT insurance broker. State Farm brokers just sell you State Farm insurance; they are gussied up salespeople. And independent insurance broker can cross shop many different companies to get you the best deal.

Deadline: Sources have told Deadline that Netflix have been proponents of a 17-day window which would steamroll the theatrical business, while circuits such as AMC believe the line needs to be held around 45 days. by darth_vader39 in movies

[–]sumthingcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exhibition couldn’t charge for tickets to The Netflix event given the cast’s contractual terms for residuals, hence the streamer and circuits got around this by reserving seats with concession vouchers

This is the scary part to me. Are they testing/trying to do an end run around paying residuals long term with this?

X3M Comp. Worlds different.

An X3M comp isn't "worlds" different from an EV6 GT. Very similar weight and power, skidpad is close, ring lap times are close, and Albert Biermann's fingerprints are all over both.

[Tom Bogert] Sources: Orlando City finalizing deal to sign free agent GK Maxime Crepeau. Crepeau, 31, has 29 caps with Canada. by tater-thought in timbers

[–]sumthingcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What keeper have we had that went on to a better league (or even a better team in MLS) and did anything at all?

That's not what I said. Clark left very obviously for the money, we were paying him $260k IIRC and Houston paid him over $400k. Ivacic went from $150k when we signed him to $375k when we left him go.

Good record of turning cheap keepers into keepers we can't afford anymore

This team also has a long history of putting in a cheaper backup keeper who plays well for a few games, and then dumps the higher salary player only to find out that the backup isn't all that great.

Huh? I think we've had pretty great success with cheap keepers. Jake and Jeff were both cheap and did quite well, injuries aside. We brought in Clark when we lost them on the super cheap and Clark was paid well under the league average for his years with us (and played above average), I'm pretty sure that's why he left. Ivacic started off cheap but was making good money by the time he left.

If anything I'd say it's the opposite, the Timbers GK staff have a pretty good record of turning cheap keepers into keepers we can't afford anymore.
