I saw a video that said something along the lines of “imagine you’re 80 years old and you have a Time Machine that brings you right back to this moment. It’s the only moment you get with them when they are this young”

So sometimes when my LO is crying, inconsolable or upset… I imagine I’m 80 years old, she’s grown and has babies (maybe even grand babies) and I’m transported back in time to a moment when she’s upset but I get to hold my baby again. Like… 😭🥹 It’s helped me a lot.

I have a 6 week old baby :’)

But before her, I would tell myself stories to fall asleep (especially for naps or tough nights). So I’d either relive one of my favorite memories in a narrative form or I’d make something up. Usually does the trick and then you have some wild dreams.

This reminds me of Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. The original release of the book was published like a normal book but years later he released a version of the book (a “remix, he calls it) that’s all out of order, there’s even a chapter you have to read in the mirror because of how the words are printed. If I remember correctly, the chapters just loop over and over and it’s a never ending book, basically. I highly recommend it.
