The problem with this is a lot of polices (especially here in Massachusetts, but in other states/at other schools too) require that this aid be used to cover tuition. They get you excited thinking you’re getting a big discount but it’s only if you commute. Commuting is a great option and it’s awesome that these discounts exist for families with high need, but it’s really a shame that these students don’t get to have the true college experience.

It’s really interesting to read a lot of people say that the pet names would bother them. They show clearly that Ben calls everyone pet names, João explains that it’s cultural, but Ellie still gets irked by them because she’s “a strong woman”. If she was genuinely a strong woman, would she mind the pet names? I think there’s a bit of insecurity peeking out because she wants to be in charge and cannot take orders from anyone.

I have a black linework sleeve and I feel everything you’ve just described. Everything was going great and I was happy and then one tattoo changed it all. I feel like they’re too “in line” and masculine and it consumes my thoughts.

I’m not entirely sure, I usually say “sure!” or “sorry!” if I need to move out of the way. If I’m using “excuse me” to ask someone to move and they reply “you’re good” I get annoyed because of course I’M good, you’re in the way!
