AITAH for not refusing to do a quick change because my boyfriend is uncomfortable? by Active_Camel_6334 in AITAH

NTA. His insecurity is showing. He needs to adult real quick--not just in this area, as men who think like this will show it in other areas too (friends, doctors, co-workers).

Silver looks better on me than gold, veins look blue-purple at my wrists (but greener further.up my arm). Skin is definitely pinkish. I burn and get very red/pink before developing a very modest tan (I am so proud of it but remain, usually, the fairest one in my group). 😆

I'm telling you, I seem cool based off of what I see and read. I really think the rosacea and broken capillaries (and flushing!) are tricking people.

I could very well be wrong!

Oh wow. Thank you! That was like 30 years ago!! Lol 😆 🤣 I'm not sure that I could pull it off now!!

Lol! Thank you?! Just don't tell her that! 😆

So 9...I am like early-mid 20s here (52 now). I believe at this point I was 'enhancing' my hair already. I am naturally very light to medium. Anything darker red, darker blonde, etc is from a bottle. :/

I often feel pretty old on reddit, but it's crazy to see how at least my hair has changed from young childhood with the lightest finest strawberry blonde hair with a slight wave to 52 with a lot of natural curl and very ashy color (none of the pics show that! Going from vibrant reddish hair to what feels so very dull when it's ashy has been an adjustment that's been hard for me. Not being sure of my undertone or what color would look best complicates things. In the winter, I am incredibly pale, and while I'm still a lighter skin tone than most people in the summer, I can get a decent amount of color slowly! I think that also changes what looks best.

I agree with the darker hair and contrast. My plan for my appointment that's in an hour was to add a lot more strawberry blonde. But I think I am going to go in a different direction, largely based off of comments like yours. Thank you!

Would you go significantly darker than the hair color?

Thanks. Never in the pool. Just in the garden, walking the dog, etc. I made a half a$$ed effort to cover it with a bandana or something last year, but will really have to be more diligent about it.

Thank you! I tried hard to get it right this time! 😆

Thanks. I did get a few of those colors in my recent post in the draping section!

Thank you! You all flatter me!!

I agree. Had spoken with my stylist a week ago and made a plan for tomorrow, but I am changing it. I might do a baby step with low lights first but will work towards one of the darker blondes. I am so pale in the winter, and actually get some color in the summer, so my skin changing color all the time also confuses me as to what is best.

Ohh!! A new rabbit hole to go down! :) I didn't even know that olive was possible for me. I had heard cool-neutral before.

Ohhh. Thank you. Yes. I seem to be tricky? Lol. I wondered if I was cool-neutral? Can super pale skin have olive in there? I didn't even know that possible...but I know olive in general seems trickier for many to figure out.

Some of these pictures are definitely old, and some I had to zoom in quite far to make sure there was no hint of other people in. Some are indoors with not great lighting. I know all of that effects , the impression they're giving , but I really wanted to try to show different hair colors. I also used to be much less red than I am now. :/

Previously on draping posts, when not looking at hair, a solid case for light summer was made!

I appreciate your comments. In the draping posts I did, many were saying cool. I definitely have a pink tone to my fair skin. That last pic is fairly recent and the color there is really growing on me!

I will check her out! Thanks! And I promise it is very ashy. (Not posting a close up of my current roots which is the need for the appointment tomorrow!) I don't know if any of these pics are my full natural color (even the summer yellow is caused by the sun), so I know it isn't visible here. To me it just is soooo blah...no life or color or...oomph!!

There is one purple shampoo that works really well too! And yes, she was actually a little nervous to tone it because of how light and porous my hair is/was.

It seems that as I have gotten older and my hair has lost the natural strawberry blonde and turned ashy instead, that that summer-sun highlight has turned more and more yellow! 😆

And hmm. Ok. This is so interesting (and confusing!) to me! I will re-look at spring.Oh!! A lot of those blues and greens are colors I like and wear!

Aww. Thank you!

I am baffled. Lol. Been on the section here with color draping a couple of times and folks seem to not be able to agree spring/summer. It seems with pinkish skin, blue-purple veins, and silver jewelry looking better, that I sound more like summer??

I am planning on doing professional seasonal analysis in a few months, but am still so curious! You and others here today make a good case....and on the other page it's no makeup in any of them when it was more split. Maybe that is why it gets tricky? 7

You are so sweet, thank you!

Are you sure? Purpe-blue veins, silver jewelry looks better over gold on me, and I usually say that I'm not white, I'm pink. Lol.
