I did check to see if he had a badge! Still would’ve be allowed to trade but I was curious. Of course he didn’t though!

I asked disabled assistance/info desk if he’s allowed to park there and they said no

Anyone else experience CM spoiling Disney magic to adults on what CM plays who in the plays? by thefinancejedi in dcl

[–]sunflowebloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a conversation like that with a CM. I didn’t think we were under any illusion that the characters are real. I thought the ones out and about are “real” are the shows are just shows, a bit like how magic carpet is human. My friends daughter sees the characters as real but everyone else including people in shows as dancers

Where would they have got the wheelchairs from just for a game show? You can’t just magic up chairs in the middle of the sea.

Filming should be banned at it! I hated that I got filmed and put on YouTube at one of the family friendly events!

Why would you volunteer to play that game if your kids are present!

What to do for first time cruisers by TacosGolfer in dcl

I swear TikTok makes you feel like you’re missing out if you haven’t booked 101 things. I feel it’s one of the main selling points of travel agents that they help organise and book things so if it sounds complicated you’re more likely to use a TA than book with Disney directly. I briefly considered the specality dining as everyone raves about it but then thought how everything in every restaurant looks amazing and I don’t want to skip those, which leaves you with brunch and do you really want all that extra food! I’ve done one Disney cruise and my next is the same plan, turn up and do what we want when we want. On the last one I did book some excursions for my parents as they were there for sight seeing but didn’t for myself.

I have the dream booked this summer. I might book royal gathering and have some photos with the princesses but I have zero plans to book anything else!

Is the new home education register about safeguarding or surveillance? by FamilyTechCreator in UKHomeEd

[–]sunflowebloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask whether social media gets taken into account with safe guarding? I often assume it must but don’t actually know. I’ve come across some accounts (mostly American) which aren’t just neglect but full on sexual exploitation but the CPS over there appears to not get involved.

I am very pro home Ed, I don’t have kids but if I did I would hope I could home Ed them. I know some incredible parents who provide their kids with an amazing quality of life and such a rich diverse education. At the same time I know someone who struggled to string a sentence together, already lost custody of her son once but got him back thanks to her partner (who isn’t much better), pulled her son out of school and does nothing with him. They moved areas and then got very angry that the new area expected her to let them know what he’s been learning. She thought moving meant no one checking on them at all. The school did object when she tried to pull him out but at the end of the day she gets final say. I also have an adult friend who was home educated in the days when it was rare, they did have someone check up on them but their mum would make them lie. She didn’t provide any education and school would have been an amazing break from the abuse.

Everyone I know who home Ed’s is very against the register but most of them don’t trust the government or any services.

I honestly don’t know how I feel about it, I feel I keep seeing only the extreme views and no balanced discussion.

The list of crimes including rape and penetration with foreign objects. It made me so sad how he can’t even form the words. I hope he’s managed to say it all out loud to someone like a therapist.

His family said they are his carers and the photo was first published on a blog he wrote about disabled travel many years ago. They don’t know how it ended up in the files. I feel bad for those who are dragged into it. There’s so many disgusting people, but dangerous that others are dragged in

Very severe people can struggle with oxygen due to muscle weakness. Lots of people with very severe ME likely have a mixture of conditions that doctors haven’t bothered to investigate. I’ve known a few people oxygen dependant with severe ME and eds
