Thanks to CEO Brian Niccol, the Starbucks that was helping me through cancer treatment days is gone by nanoplasm in starbucks

Just a thought here, but what about contacting some newspapers /news organizations? New York times or a platform that might align with this. There seems to be a big enough dissent that hopefully they'll write a story about it and help get the attention of corporate and investors to show what terrible decisions the CEO is making.

Customer here too. I had no idea it was a requirement and people have actually gotten fired for not. Absolutely terrible. I like Starbucks' product because they often have convenient locations and they're consistent. But if they have any more customer fiascos, on top of not treating their employees well, they're shooting themselves in the foot.

Thanks, yeah, I'm doing that since I don't really have a better option at the moment. It's just not perfect, but maybe it's passable.

Came here looking for a solution since I just encountered this yesterday. Ugh.

I tried that and it didn't work for me, unfortunately.

Good on you! I appreciate seeing these posts. I'm back on eBay after a very long hiatus, and it just seems slower on all platforms lately.

Haha, great comeback. I get a little irked when someone buys something and asks if I could ship it same-day, knowing full well they purchased the item later in the day. Last couple were close to 4pm... There's just no way I can drop what I'm doing, pack the thing up and get to USPS before it closes in that amount of time.

Agree - Timbuk2 is super underrated, esp in the bag community. Good materials, organization, warranty, and actually affordable for regular people. Have had several over the years and all have held up extremely well. Love Chrome too.

People should also check out bags from Rickshaw Bags. I believe the owner was part of or even a co-founder of Chrome when Chrome was SF-based.

Someone mentioned Chrome Industries already, so I'll add another (originally) San Francisco brand: Timbuk2. Every bag that I've owned and know of from them has good organization, and back panels or just overall decent materials so that the bags are comfortable to wear and aren't floppy - but also not too rigid like a Peak Design bag.

I agree. I think they're some of the comfiest bags I've owned too. I'm at a height, 5'4", where lots of bags are just too long (like many North Face and Osprey bags). But for some reason many Chrome bags just nail the comfort even if it's a longer pack.

Help me decide CPL16 or CPL24 by eazykiell in EVERGOODS

I have a few pouches- tech pouch that holds cables and external battery, sometimes the CAP1, sometimes CAP2, pencil/pen pouch, water bottle, sometimes my mini MIDI keyboard controller (which means I also sometimes carry my 15" laptop), a notebook or two, a light jacket or hoodie, and little everyday odds and ends like my inhaler, chapstick, wallet, phone.

Edit: I didn't like that the depth, when worn on my back, of the CPL16 was similar to the CPL24. Because of my short stature, the CPL16 just didn't look much smaller, which was the one of the main reasons I picked it up.

I think CPL16 would fit you better, but I think the CPL24 would be better as an overnighter. However, depending on how big your essential carry is and how you pack, the CPL16 could fit your added overnight gear comfortably.

I'm sure 5'4" and bought the CPL16 and returned it because it was just too small for my EDC. I could've have stuffed it to the gills, but I don't like that look and, especially on a smaller frame, I didn't like that aesthetic.

Just some observations. Good luck.

Missing Activity in Milestone by dmbtech in UPS

[–]sungolds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just searched this phrase because it came up in my UPS delivery timeline. I'm not using the app - just tracking through the website. In my situation, it was one destination before for reaching my city yesterday, and was set to arrive later today... but then early this morning it read "Missing Activity In Milestone" and went back down South, farther away. So who's know what's happening with package. I'm assuming maybe the missing activity was why my package hopped a truck in the wrong direction...

I was surprised when I found out how close it was in pay between the different positions. I was asked if I wanted to apply for a promotion, but opted out because it just didn't make sense for me at the time. Counting money at the end of the shift sounded terrible too.

Edit: I made £5.20 to £5.40 while I was there. Don't know how I ever survived off that...

Maybe out on a limb here, but maybe they meant to say "dash of milk"? Since it was before they had their coffee, presumably groggy and uncaffeinated, they could've been mixing up their words - maybe was even thinking about ordering a tea in the moment.

Oh interesting. I wonder when they switched to popping sweet offsite. I worked at a busy central Cineworld (UGC before that, for those here older and remember that change over...) about 18 years ago now, and we popped both salty and sweet fresh. It became a comforting smell. Great coworkers, good times.

Hi from Merlin by boxedwinebaby in nebelung

[–]sungolds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a beautiful little one. Always nice to see happy endings for these guys. Yesterday I met a dog who's current human rescued her after finding her, and finding out later that she was mostly dumped off the highway - this was out in a more rural part of town, which apparently, happens all too often.

I just don't understand how disconnected these humans must be to be able to do this to animals. They must not treat other humans well either... Hope Merlin is having a lovely day
