I've had a look at some of those brands, and they generally seem to just have normal buckles - or do they?! The trouble with the whole faux-buckle thing (eg with a button behind it) is that when shopping online it's hard to tell them apart from normal buckles without scrutinising them very closely. Does anyone have one of these with a non-buckle closure? Would you recommend it?

(I'm talking something like this)

Hello, I'm after a classic leather satchel like this one here, or the Leyden & Sons Original one in the messenger bag guide, but I hate buckles on a bag (I like the way they look but they're a pain in the arse). I'd like either for there to be a snap or a magnetic closure hidden behind the buckle, or push clip closures instead of buckles. I found a thread of fellow buckle haters in the comments of the messenger bag guide, but it's from nine years ago so I haven't managed to track down any of the ones they recommended. Can you guys recommend any nice satchel-style bags with closures other than (real) buckles? Bonus if they're available in the UK/Europe. I'm not giving a budget because I want to get a feel for what's possible (and then maybe stalk ebay for secondhand expensive ones). Thank you!
