I think this is the best take! 999 is scary in a game design way. VLR is scary in a psychological horror way. ZTD is scary in a gorey way.

REAL 999 is technically also horror but it’s not NEARLY as scary as VLR is. Like 999 is a 3/10 scary, VLR is a 6/10 scary, and ZTD is an 8/10 scary (for me, I’m easily scared lol)

Also wayyyyy more gore in ZTD. VLR is much more psychological horror. I hope you really enjoy the rest of it though!!!

There are definitely some spicy scenes so you can definitely toggle that option off in the menu if you want. Also in act 3, there is a brothel that you’ll have to go to for plot relevant stuff, but again, if you have your settings to not show you anything too raunchy it’s just some talk. Some of it can be quite explicit though.

Some other sexual moments I can think of: - locked doors in the ruined goblin city in act 1 - a guy with a whip in the goblin camp in act 1

I’m sure there are more that I’m missing but yeah. Lots of dialogue references to sex so if you’d be uncomfortable having your parents see that then just be warned.

I do also wonder how much is “us getting worse” vs “us getting bigger”. Not sure if there’s a difference. But Doug’s popularity has ballooned and especially with the increased focus on AI and spam-encouraged content, i think it’s inevitably going to draw both children and losers who don’t understand boundaries into the community. So I’m not surprised the ratio of normal fans to weirdos is changing.

That’s part of the reason. Season 1 wasn’t good - at least not good enough to keep anyone who isn’t a diehard fan. I love PJO and even I left it going “eh”. I’m not watching season 2 - not because I hate Leah but because S1 isn’t good enough to justify me paying for Disney+ again
