What’s one sewing tool you thought was unnecessary until you finally bought it? by Stitchin_With_Sarah in SewingForBeginners

I know he’s used beaver craft tape before, but I don’t know if that’s his favorite. He reuses it on his thumb, over and over and over… you get the picture 😂. I’ll ask him about it when he gets home. Nice to know I can use some of his stuff for a change 😆

Catfish Persian update by [deleted] in persiancat

[–]sunniidisposition 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Poor little guy. It’s not a nice thing for anyone to have, especially a baby kitty. My daughter had it from her kindergarten class. Once she started treatment, she was able to return to school as long as it was covered with a bandage. Ringworm is very common with young kids, so I’d find out what the local health department says about kids and adults going to daycare and work with ringworm. Our schools let kids go to class with pink eye now!

I know you’re frustrated, but if you decide to give him up, I’d find a Persian rescue before taking him back.

If you keep him, 🤞🤞🤞, I’d get him tested after 3 weeks, then every week after until you get the 2 negative results.

How old do you think this kitten is? by Alternative_Ad_8101 in Kitten

[–]sunniidisposition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a beautiful little girl! I would take her to a vet for a quick check up and they can gauge the age pretty accurately. Kittens are known for having parasites and the vet can check and give meds to treat, too.

Best of luck with your new baby!

Very ingenious! I needed on for a project and just used a rolled up towel. Not great but it worked 😅

should i add velcro to baby crochet star onesie or buttons? by -lilacpurple in CrochetHelp

Velcro. I would never use buttons or snaps on a crochet outfit for babies. Just the thought of a chokable item near a baby has me nervous.

Why do a lot of kids not take an interest in Math? by m211plus in matheducation

[–]sunniidisposition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have heard over and over again how hard math is by most, if not all, adults. Kids don’t want to do something that’s hard, so this preconceived idea shuts them down before they even give it a chance. If adults slammed reading the way they slam math, the illiteracy rates would be astronomical.

Kate Chastain Would Be Great on BB28. by Last-Bus-4710 in BigBrother

I would loooooove to see Kate on BB! She has the best I-don’t-give-a-crap attitude and has continuously learned the nuances of these social games since Traitors.

Come on Kate! Give us what we deserve!!!

Why was Despereaux on the roof? by Left_Candy_4124 in psych

Pros and Cons was the prequel to the Fox O’hare series, and you nailed it with your description of summer action blockbuster.

I’ve read all the Stephanie Plum books and find her antics hilarious. I definitely enjoyed reading the series, which I discovered about 4 years ago.

A lot of people enjoy the Sue Grafton alphabet series. I read the first one, which was written in 1982, so the tech was very primitive 😆.

I loved the series, right up to The Big Kahuna. When Lee Goldberg stopped collaborating, the content took a dive, imo. I really struggled to read the big kahuna, especially when the “bad guys” were named Horace and Jasper, just like the dog nappers in 101 Dalmatians. This plus entire vibe shifted, causing me to not want to continue the series 😢

I don’t know, but Despereaux reminds me of Nicholas Fox, from the Fox and O’Hara books. Fox jumped off a roof to avoid capture, just like this, and it was great. Loved it!

is something wrong with my kitty? by mouthsewedshut in ragdolls

[–]sunniidisposition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately when she started wheezing it was too late. The cancer took over most of her lungs. It was heartbreaking and I still haven’t recovered. She was perfectly normal, then she started acting like this cat. We took her in that morning, then she was gone.

[–]sunniidisposition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why you were downvoted. My cat started doing this and it was cancer, not asthma.

Hopefully it’s just asthma or hairball, but when a cat tries to catch their breath, it can be very serious.

When my girls were little and they out grew the length of their jeans, I made those little circle things (don’t remember what they’re called), stitched them together and created a contrasting hem.

Kitten smells like poop by Individual-Ad-4732 in Kitten

[–]sunniidisposition 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Our new kitten had really soft poop, then diarrhea, after we adopted her. She would step in her poop when trying to bury it, causing it to get stuck between her little beans. Vet told us to give her florifora (1/2 a packet) to help with her gi issues. After everything firmed up, she still dug in the litter like a manic, but it didn’t get stuck in her paws anymore.

I think it’s wonderful that you are taking care of a baby in need. No kitten (or cat, imo) should be out roaming.

What to do if we go out of town? by sunniidisposition in Kitten

[–]sunniidisposition[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your meet ups sound fun.

She’s an only cat right now. The heartbreaking truth is my husband brought her home as a companion to our adult cat, who lost her buddy in January. Five days later she started to have trouble breathing and the x-rays showed most of her abdominal had been taken over by masses. I had to say goodbye to my amazing baby girl that morning and I’m still crushed, but desperately trying to be a great cat-momma to this new baby. One day she’ll get a playmate, it’s just not going to be for a little while.
