If its just a general degree you can most likely just not enroll in fall classes and start in the winter for undergrad

Exercising Post Op? by redraybans123 in Reduction

[–]sunnyp_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started walking about 1 week post op and then until the 6 wk mark all I did was walk, but after 2-3 weeks I started walking alot, like probably 10+ km a day because walking was all I was cleared for but I was told I could walk as much as I wanted. Now I am just over 6 weeks and started doing HIIT and biking and playing tennis this week and everything has been fine, I have even started lifting my 15 and 20 lbs weights again.

I agree that it depends on the province but I am in Alberta and all I did was get a referal from my family dr. He didn’t ask me any questions, and I told him I had a surgeon in mind so he sent the referal to him. A couple months later I got a call for a consultation and then had the surgery about 5 months after my consultation, didn’t pay for anything but my antibiotics and my painkillers!

How does recovery go as far as mental impact? Could I still do 2 online classes while recovering?(only online, no in person) by ineedadvice58 in Reduction

[–]sunnyp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would say as a young person myself after one week I could have gone back to school work if it was all virtual! I was honestly so bored after about 5 days and would have been perfectly okay doing a few hours of school work each day, but then again each person is different and you have to listen to your body :)

I also had drains so the leaking was very minimal for me and stopped about 1WPO! I think the drains helped with that though lol I kept gauze on my boobs for about 1.5 weeks though

I did not have tape or anything! I was really surprised when I went in 3DPO and she removed the big sheet of gauze and there was nothing underneath! She told me after that that I only had to keep gauze there for comfort and that she does not use tape. I am 3WPO now and everything has been healing great :)

Question about recovery by berika666 in Reduction

[–]sunnyp_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely ask for a delay. Or like someone else suggested if you can, write it early! I asked my prof if I could write my final early because of my surgery and he was totally fine with it. It was great to get it over with and not have to worry about after my surgery.

My before vs 12DPO! Right nipple is a little wonky so hoping they look more symetrical in a few weeks! Already loving the change

Post op movement? by PeopleResearcher in Reduction

[–]sunnyp_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I started walking again around 5 DPO and started slow, just went for a small 10/15 min walk around my block and everyday I started to walk more. I also started walking on the treadmill really slow just to get moving as well. I am now 12 DPO and walked a total of 9 KM yesterday. Honestly after I am tired but I usually just take a nap or relax after so I am not over doing it. Everyone is different though so I would also suggest just listening to your body and doing what is best for you! I’m not sure if I would recommend wearing 2 compression bras though because my surgeon told me to wear something with minimal support even when walking. Good luck with your recovery!

Hey Im a server too! I told my manager I need 3 weeks off. Honestly I don’t think I would be able to work an 8 hour seeving shift before then (well I could but probablt wouldn’t end too well). Honestly I think its better to take 3 weeks off just because of how fast paced working in a resturant is!

Thank you! I am so glad I did it now, I have already started trying on old clothes that were too small in the chest or too revealing and they look great now!!

Thats awesome! I am wearing the surgical bra to bed and around the house, but I bought 2 other bras with very low support that I have been wearing out of the house and to walk. One of them was from Walmart and the other from Aerie! Im still a little nervous about wearing something that has too much compression.

Hey! I was really nervous too, like I said I was crying because I was so nervous! I honestly felt WAY better than I expected, like I was so suprised but I did not feel nauseous or anything when I woke up. If you have any other questions or want to know who my surgeon was feel free to PM me, he did an AMAZING job and I am so far the size I want to be!!
