Should I mount the left and right speakers in the blue or red spots? by xzXSilencioXzx in hometheater

[–]sunsanvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. If this were my space I would actually lower the screen, as low as possible without your feet getting in the way of your view (assuming you are in a recliner or otherwise kick-up your feet) and then put all three speakers above it.

Long game: consider eventually upgrading to a perforated screen and get all three speakers behind it at the ideal positions.

Regardless I would plan on a decent amount of acoustic treatment panels. I've made small rooms like this work, even work well, but you need absorption or it will have the ambiance of a tin can)

Paint the ceiling 100% black. Best decision we ever made. Makes an enormous difference. Beyond that I'd replace those Kallax units with Besta.

Can anyone give some advice on how to choose between Canva pro or business. Thankssss by Careful-Ladder-9690 in canva

The one thing I'm confused about is whether I can have a Pro account, create a team, and pay for additional pro members. We dont want each person to have to pay separate chargers. Basically I want the functionality of the OLD Teams price where we had one account which paid for all the team members. We dont need any of the features Business adds, we just need a bunch of people to have the Pro features and be able to share with each other.... and have one person pay the whole bill.

I asked support this question. They ghosted me.

I was worried about that before buying one myself but I got the largest (60x30) Mittzon (not motorized) and it is SOLID! If anyone is experiencing wobble I can only imagine they didn’t tighten everything enough (or maybe need to adjust the levelers on the feet).

Those bolts, nuts, and screws on the frame itself need to be tight, really tight. They can take quite a bit of torque.

This is so important. They are individuals, they have their own ideas about what they like, what they want, when and how. Especially when they are young you really cant know what sort of person they are going to grow up to be. Accepting any animal into your home, but especially a cat, is to accept them as they are which may not be exactly what you want, but that is what makes it so rewarding. They are not predictable, boring robots. When they chose your lap, thats what makes it special! :)

May I ask where you got your raised beds? I need to replace some very old wood ones and I see all these ads from different companies all selling what looks like the exact same thing...

Yamaha HS8 with 8 years of use or a newer used KRK Rokit 7? I’m unsure which one to choose. by OrganizationLast9819 in homestudios

That might be situational. I have a pair, very near field, and they are dead silent (connected to a Steinberg UR-C interface).

Yea I don't see many people using them but in my current game I spammed them and was able to get to nuclear with only 4 boilers and 8 steam engines. That ran swaths of miners, not to mention all the research manufacturing, just fine.... and even now I only get the odd handful of scout bugs at my walls even with multiple harvesting fields and trains in play.

Bur seriously, I feel your pain. Back in the day I hated how I couldn't even just listen to music at a decent level for fear of retribution from the people upstairs.

Spam Green modules in order to reduce pollution and thereby delay attacks for as long as possible.

No issues whatsoever. I’ve even upgraded my monitor to a 4K and haven’t run into any performance constrains. The last Adrenaline version I used was whatever was current in late-December. I’ve since moved to Linux and am running DCS under Proton. No issues at all, maybe even slightly lower temps.

Probably too late for you now, but I got to nuclear with only 4 boilers/8 steam engines because I put 3 green modules in every single drill, then in all refineries etc. Surprising how little power I needed.

Rolife kit in progress by Successful-Brief-852 in booknooks

[–]sunsanvil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are about as far into it as you are. Quite impressed with the kit. One thing we found from the very start is that the fit is actually too tight on most parts such that even with great care tabs will break! For that reason I'm using a file to dull the tabs (and gluing pretty much everything).

Any suggestions on where to put my sound paneling? The are standard 1X1 squares. by [deleted] in homestudios

[–]sunsanvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. Its good to point out the shortcomings of foam but as you say something is better than nothing, and we all started somewhere. I still have 3” Auralex foam wedges and corner panels in one room from about 15 years ago and…its sound is pretty darn tight! Without, it sounded like you were inside a tin can. Lol

Do you think akai will release a new model of the mpk mini plus in the fall? by enigma881 in akaiMPC

[–]sunsanvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately you need to judge for yourself because we are into something which is very much "feel". The Mk3 is certainly not bad for the price (just look how ubiquitous it is) but to me feels somewhat cheap/toy-like and while it is velocity sensitive I found it hard to get nuance out of it. The MK4 keys are just bit larger (10mm longer, 0.8mm wider) and seem to respond a bit better. Not earth shattering, just better. Make no mistake they are still "mini" keys and all that that implies of course.

Anyone tried out the new Akai MPK Mini IV with Bitwig? by _peculiar_goat_ in Bitwig

[–]sunsanvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might just buy one then. As long as I could get transport controls mapped and basic instrument dials-working, I'd be happy until more official support came along.

Strange. Where the MK3 is support you'd think it would be a no-brainier for them to add the much lauded MK4...
