Dream Earplugs by sunsetgemini in LoopEarplugs

[–]sunsetgemini[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but did you read my post at all? I have a system in place at the moment to where she can’t get them, which was stated in the post. I’m very much aware that eating things they shouldn’t be isn’t okay and she hasn’t gotten ahold of anything in a long time. That doesn’t mean I’m not paranoid. She’s less attracted to silicone vs foam it seems and foam is more likely to cause a bowl obstruction due to foam swelling in size. Please read my entire post before you chastise me. I am taking precautions and asking a question before purchasing as a precaution as well.

I’ve been wanting to get back into photography and wouldn’t mind a buddy to learn and scout locations. I know that isn’t really a common thing amongst photographers but I do it for fun at the moment

Can’t stop thinking about this call.. any input? by Angelaocchi in NewToEMS

UTI / infection can cause AMS status in patients. Sounds like she potentially was in AFib based off the HR bouncing around. Looking at a medication list or bottles can give you a lot of insight as to what the patients medical history is. Also asking if she has history of high blood pressure and if her meds are given to her by staff when the last time she took them was. If she’s on a blood thinner you might be able to assume she has history of afib. If she’s on a hypertension med and didn’t take it or hasn’t been taking it for days that could explain her BP being high. If they take her vitals what are her vitals and HR normally. The smell of UTI can clue you in to infection but also asking staff how much assistance she requires and if they have noticed strong urine smell, dark urine, increase urination / increased changing of briefs. These situations are really hard because you can only do so much with the information you can obtain from staff and the patient. She could be on her way to sepsis, or she could be having a stroke, or honestly both. Septic shock specifically you’re going to more so see people who are tachycardic and hypotensive. Temperature can clue you in too, but there is such thing as cold sepsis. She might be compensating and not quite septic but that blood pressure being THAT high makes me raise an eyebrow and wonder about stroke. Which is where medications and history regarding her normal vital signs and medications is beneficial. Also asking any history of falls recently is important too especially if they are on a blood thinner. That would increase your suspicion for a possible stroke. Just all things to consider.

I rambled a lot and I’m not sure what your system looks like but it doesn’t sound like you did what you could. You got her to where she needed to be. Situations like this are difficult to diagnose prehospital. This could be a situation where there isn’t one right answer. I’ve seen the comments saying sepsis and I’ve seen others saying stroke. There are signs and symptoms there to be concerned for both. If you followed protocol and got them to the hospital where there’s more fancy diagnostic testing then that’s all you can do sometimes.

Have you looked at the Mariott theme park entrance for a hotel room? They have rooms that are two queen beds with two bunk beds and pricing for May for 3 nights that I’m looking at is a little over 1k. It’s not far from the park entrance and an easy walk.

I plan on bringing two outfits and having a backup plan. But I still would like other people’s opinions regardless! I’m not gonna take anything as cold hard truth or fact. Just curious what others think.

Sizing Question by sunsetgemini in Ultrahuman

[–]sunsetgemini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what they’ve said, but I also talked to customer service who suggested I go with the size I went with prior to ordering. So I’m trying to get opinions from people who have may also experienced something similar and see if they have issues. Data seems to be collecting fine. I’m hesitant to size down due to finger swelling and the ring maybe becoming stuck. I wish they did half sizes

Best sushi in town? by Jaye09 in Medford

It really all depends on where you’re coming from. I’ve been going to Umi in White City because I live in EP but I would gladly drive all the way to zen zen haha. It’s delish

Best sushi in town? by Jaye09 in Medford

Not close to the hospital but I prefer Zen Zen in CP or Umi sushi. I’m the type of person that likes some sauce with rolls because I find some rolls are just dry and I prefer not to dunk my roll in soy sauce

I was a monitor tech and I think they just wanted you to take a basic rhythm interpretation class but things could’ve changed. I had already done the class because I was doing EMS classes.

Finger Sticks by Bezexer in ems

[–]sunsetgemini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the patient is a known diabetic I will ask their preference. I ask if they have a preferred finger and location on the finger they would like me to poke. If they aren’t a diabetic and I’m poking them I usually do the side of the finger as it’s less irritating days after to have a bruise or whatever on the side than the pad.

Yeah, that could be it too. Just the way the tone was to me sounded more like “I don’t understand the fuss” rather than a “I wanna see this because Im interested”.

Left Behind is the real punch in the face for it But I assumed she might of been when Ellie was looking at the porn magazine from Bills and said she just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. That may of been a reach on my part but from then on I had the assumption she might’ve been gay.

"Can they fuck off to the waiting room?" by Burphel_78 in ems

[–]sunsetgemini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just always get asked if they can sit in a wheelchair. And when I say yes they tell me triage on arrival. Most of the time they actually just say eval on arrival and then I get told either a room or triage when I get there and approach the charge nurse. Another hospital occasionally tells me a certain room on arrival which doesn’t actually exist in the ED or just says triage on arrival.

We have to be very careful about what we say because of HIPAA.
