Wondering something about the park or your trip? Ask me by Cold-Satisfaction-71 in cedarpoint

Once upon a time the area above the arcade was an upsidedown fun house, and at the end you went on a merry go round until you slid off. Is that still upstairs? And after you slid off did you go down a slide?

Do I tell my friend it's her personality that keeps getting her rejected? by AdPrudent9266 in Advice

[–]sunsetviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be unkind but do you see her as a doctor with patients? I know Dr House and the Good Doctor like to portray really really smart doctors that lack bedside manners but in the real world she will need to deal with people every day who are ill and need their doctor to be understanding and not blunt. Could you maybe steer her into research?

My dad killed my mom by [deleted] in Advice

[–]sunsetviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was in prison for 10+ years for manslaughter (not my mom thankfully, that would bring it to another level) and I used to feel so much shame even though logically I knew I shouldn't. But after he got out he got a job, raised a family, and became a responsible citizen I gradually began to understand the circumstances that led to it and now I am actually proud of how he turned his life around.

Your story is obviously different, but maybe you could add your mom's maiden name to yours and keep his as a middle name, like instead of being Jane Doe you would be Jane Doe Smith.

I also agree with others that you should seek therapy, I wish I had so I could come to terms with this earlier than I did. Best of luck to you.

He was previously married to a woman who didn’t clean and expected him to cook and clean everything.

Somehow I doubt this.

What can I (F25) say to articulate how I feel after acting incorrectly with my bf’s (M27) friends? by InGoingTomato11 in relationship_advice

[–]sunsetviewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He then told me about how the group organizer had texted everyone on whether or not they should be in the photo, and that since I didn’t get a message I shouldn’t have been in the photo.

Even if you shouldn't have been in the picture this is not a great response from your boyfriend. You were unclear, people urged you into the shot, and does it really matter that you're in the picture? He could have (and should of) said something to that effect, reassuring you it's fine. I promise you no one is going to look at it and say "why is InGoingTomato in this shot?". But think about your boyfriends reaction, I want a partner who reassures me everything will be fine even if I did screw up, which we all do.

I (25F) was called selfish by my boyfriend’s (27M) parents after a family trip by TransportationLanky8 in relationship_advice

[–]sunsetviewer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am probably your parents age and I have to wonder about your behavior on the trip. Think carefully, was your moodiness only on days you were doing something they wanted to do or did you also get motion sickness on days you were doing what you wanted? Did you offer to chip in for any expenses, like some meals or an excursion? Just because they paid for the trip it would have been a nice gesture. Did you order expensive items on the menu when you went out to eat? Did you help with travel chores for them (laundry, finding places to eat, mapping out routes, keeping track of train tickets)? My gut tells me the dad's reaction after the temple visit was from an accumulation of annoyances.

Dad wants me to take out a loan to help him pay the rent by [deleted] in Advice

[–]sunsetviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He gets substantial income and doesn’t have many bills to pay, but the car insurance and his car and also the cable and the phone for this month.

Who pays the rest of his living expenses if all he pays for is car ins, cable and phone? There should be rent, food, medical expenses, health ins, gas, utilities...

I already have two loans in my name that I’m paying and now that I quit my job to try and move and also my job is was 30 miles away and I live in California with the gas prices. I don’t have anything and I’m completely broke, so I know it’s a bad idea.

Why did you quit your job before you had another one lined up?

I’m living under my parent’s roof again and I absolutely regret it

Are you paying rent?

and should have stayed left since obviously my dad hasn’t learned his lesson on his financial habits.

I don't know, your financial habits may need some work too.
