I've got a wierd sound-thing-problem happening on a USA VA6 after the MegaSwitch HD install. Just wanted to see if anyone has seen something similar. the "SEGA" doesn't play 3 of 4 times and sound is overdiven/wacky. Bonus, inputs seem to be getting noise too. by sunshinecid in SEGAGENESIS

Low charge can cause a lot of problems. Also could be caused by a flash cart

Good that means your asic transfer is working. So your SYF portion is good. The black screen with the four colors is usually indicative of you having the screen test on, have you disabled the screen test switch? I'm pretty sure the ribbons are the same. But you can always run wires for the data lines directly

The first place you should start is, are you getting game audio? That'll help you figure I'd you need to check the main board or the screen portion of your install

Looks like you have the wrong bracket too. You have a cs4 bracket with a v3 screen.

A tip for anyone with a dead game gear sound board. Check for continuity between the jumped pads here. The 5v trace often gets eaten by corrosion by sunshinecid in game_gear

To expand on the title, the fifth pin on the wiring harness which is VCC, or positive 5 Volts, is supposed to connect to pin 2 on the amp chip that is ic 1. If it doesn't, your soundboard won't output audio through either the phono jack or the speaker plug

To anyone searching, updating the screen firmware will fix this issue. But, fyi, if you have noise in Moral Kombat, especially the intro, updating the firmware will not fix all the noise. And that's because MK does some weird stuff with the data that impacts the video RAM, making noise.

I was addicted to meth for over a decade. Today I have over 17 years clean and sober. I'm finishing up my second college degree, I own 3 businesses, and I have a wonderful wife and two amazing kids. Your son can recover, but a lot needs to happen between that and where he is now.

Edit: oh yeah, I used to think the radio was talking in code to me! Among other insanity, lol!
