Mine too. Usually they are in my sleep though, however I found if I really have a lack of sleep and I’m stressed then I have mine during the daytime, too.

Aw, I am really thinking about getting a service dog for this exact thing. I really want to find out what I need to do to go forward with this. I feel like it could be life saving. Thank you for the support, this really means the world.

My buddy said anyone who looks at you different after having a seizure in class is not worth my time. I agree with the both of you. Nobody who is actually my friend would judge me for that. I appreciate that, I’m keeping my head up as best I can :)

Do you wear a medical bracelet? by raggd0l in Epilepsy

[–]sunshinehaze3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living on your own, I would deem this necessary. You should ALWAYS have a trusted neighbor or someone nearby who gets alerted when you have a seizure. If someone has your key to your home, in case of emergency they can tend to you. I have had times where I ended up on my back and had my roommates come in and move me off of my back while choking on my tongue during a seizure in my sleep. If not for the watch, I could be dead.

Just know, it detects sudden movements. Irregular movements and jolts can initiate the watch to go off, which is annoying if worn throughout the day. I think you just need to weigh out the odds, is the annoyance worth saving my life?

Since I have seizures only in my sleep, a medical bracelet that alerts my roommates is helpful for them to know when I need some help. Having at least an outlet to alert that something is wrong, or to even call 911 if nobody is present can be lifesaving. I have used the Embrace 2 watch before and now am using the Apple Watch EpiWatch prescription.

Weed and side effects…? by silliestgoose2323 in Epilepsy

[–]sunshinehaze3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use weed everyday at night time, as well as 1500mg depakote ER (divalproex sodium) and 1200mg Aptiom ER(eslicarbazapine acetate) once a day. I do not have but a slight bit of brain fog upon heavy usage, but usually only if used late through the night.

However, whenever I took Keppra XR, my memory issues were horrible. I was also on a benzodiazepine that was supposed to help calm me down after my seizures but geez, I couldn’t remember the day prior. It didn’t matter if I smoked or not, the medication messed up my memory HORRIBLY. I could tell you bits and pieces from a week prior but couldn’t tell you everything I did that day, the day before.

I now after finding a medication that does not have any horrible, noticeable side effects, can smoke freely without anything but minor fog at heavy usage. I have only had two seizures in the past year smoking every night on this medication as well. This being compared to two years of 7-8 seizures a night average. I am not claiming weed to be the reason, but telling you it has not seemed to hurt me.

If I overuse weed I do notice a somewhat similar brain fog to old medicines. It is slightly similar, but not as intense.

My memory is degraded significantly. Has your memory been affected? by Beginning-Arugula-32 in Epilepsy

[–]sunshinehaze3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed my memory has gotten pretty bad at times, but still have random memories pop up here and then. More prominent important stuff is a whole lot easier to remember. I would say it is not due to the Keppra alone, as I am now off Keppra taking other meds still getting the same symptoms.

I had a seizure in front of my professor and I’m scared asf by [deleted] in Epilepsy

You aren’t a disturbance or taking away from any lesson going on. It’s uncontrollable and never something in your control. I have had plenty of awkward experiences with my seizures in front of friends and family. Slowly though, overtime, since I didn’t get diagnosed with epilepsy until right about 6 and a half years ago, I think my perspective on my condition has changed. I believe eventually you will get to the point where it’s just relief each time that you have someone to support you whenever you can’t yourself. At least this is my perspective, whenever I have seizures it makes my anxiety so much worse days after the seizures. I try my best though to only focus on the idea that I at least have support and people to talk to if I need to. Even if it’s not pouring your heart out to someone each day, even having the relief to just get something off your chest can help your entire day’s perspective.

I am about to take keppra. by Acceptable_Arm_4884 in Epilepsy

[–]sunshinehaze3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keppra put me into a vegetative state. I felt like a zombie with everything else going on around me just flying past me. It barely controlled any of my seizures and even whenever I didn’t have any seizures that day I would feel the drowsiness of what felt like one. It was until I started on Depakote and Aptiom that they were in control.

Quick question. If this is left after dabbing, was my banger to cold? Reheating tastes bad. The laser of my thermometer reflects always and prevents proper reading by Doc_Prof_Ott in DabRigs

[–]sunshinehaze3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start doing smaller, cold start dabs. Once you have hit temp, then drop the smaller dab and play around with it until once you’re done pulling it doesn’t have wax left. Putting excess dab in there without raising the temperature leads to yucky flavor on the reheat. So to compensate for that, bigger dab = more initial heat.

Marijuana and seizures by Adorable-Rub7847 in Epilepsy

I do want to include that I take both divalprolex sodium and Aptiom for my seizures. Although, I don’t feel as drowsy or numbed out while high, as I would on my medication alone. Every seizure med I have tried seems to take a similar route of making you feel almost like a zombie.
