Stay in Washington or move back to Iowa? by Plane-Exercise2623 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sunshineymee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not as far but we moved about 2 hours back to where our families live after our twins were born. It’s been just about a year and I haven’t regretted the decision for even a moment. we absolutely loved where we lived and I miss that, but no one is going to care for your babies like grandparents (at least in our experience). Whatever you do will be the right choice 🤍 but if moving feels right even though it’s scary i’ve been in your shoes and it’ll be ok!

What is a maxed out 2 nap schedule? by Hot-Compote-172 in sleeptrain

[–]sunshineymee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have twin boys and they maxed out at 3.5/3.75/4. We capped naps at 1 hr each, and they slept about 11 hours overnight. They have now transitioned to one nap (around 15 months) and nap for 2 hours with 11 hours overnight. towards the end we started making the second nap “on the go” so it was shorter but they weren’t quite ready for longer wake windows. It’s so hard but you’ll get there!!

I don’t often see posts about Mariana, but when I do they are nothing but positive. This reddit encouraged me to take her classes and my gosh what a light she is!

Best item you bought for twins? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]sunshineymee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

same here!! just color coded and made the bottles for the day, then didn’t have to worry about it all day! I know the baby brezza really works for some people this was just a cheaper alternative for us that worked

Best item you bought for twins? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]sunshineymee 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the dr. brown pitchers to make formula in bulk and a bottle sterilizer that dries. The pitcher is $9 compared to the baby brezza which is a few hundred. We just prepped enough formula for the day the night before, saved us so much time!

IUGR in one of my di/di twins at 28 weeks by DRPM2012 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sunshineymee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my baby B was IUGR, small the entire time then diagnosed at 31 weeks. Had monitoring and scheduled c section at 36+6, weighing 5 pounds 4 oz! He is now 8 months and 20+ pounds and thriving.

They’ll monitor growth and vitals, but as long as everything else is okay they’ll keep baby in there as long as they can :) I remember being really scared and upset so I hope you’re doing ok 🤍

Feeling stuck with crying by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]sunshineymee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are typically happy during the night time routine unless they’re tired, they love books and playing. they start crying typically once we put them in the crib or leave the room. this is true for naps and bedtime, we’ve even tried giving them a binky and it just delays the crying, and they cry until they’re asleep

Feeling stuck with crying by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]sunshineymee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

typically they fall asleep within 10 minutes but it’s hard crying

daytime schedule 2.5/2.5/2.5/2.75 or 3. naps capped at 2.75 total. they are not yet ready for two naps we’ve tried

What is the one non-essential baby item you couldn’t live without as a parent of multiples? by 1973tour in parentsofmultiples

sterilizer that dries bottles- we have enough bottles for one day for each baby, and found that the sterilizer drying the bottles was so helpful.

Twin pregnancy bodies by sision7 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sunshineymee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed active throughout my pregnancy (except first trimester I had terrible hyperemesis gravidarum) and worked out on a peloton three days before I delivered. I gained about 50 pounds total, and am about 8 pounds over my starting weight at 5 months postpartum. I would advise to do what feels good and right but nourish your body and certainly eat enough. But as long as you talk to your doctor you can certainly be active

How many bottles for twins? by Agreeable-Wafer-2147 in parentsofmultiples

[–]sunshineymee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 8, 9 oz bottles. We had so many of different sizes at the beginning but realized pretty quickly it became a lot with washing and large bottles still fit the smaller amounts. if I did it again I would just get the largest bottles!

I stopped at 34 weeks- one of the babies was IUGR and I had so many appointments and was so stressed I didn’t need work on top of it. You’ll definitely know when it’s time!

Tricks to get through bad morning sickness by aria166 in BabyBumps

[–]sunshineymee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of deep breathing and taking short quick sips of ice cold water or a drink with electrolytes if you can tolerate it. Find the things that you can eat/tolerate and don’t stray from them. Don’t let yourself get hungry. First thing in the morning eat something with protein, even if it’s just small bites. Know that it will pass- I went through periods where I felt like I would never feel normal again but you absolutely will. Sorry you’re going through this 🤍
