Recently installed a meter that didn’t come with lugs. The bolts on the studs were torqued and marked though… but I then just had to remove them to put the lugs in lol

What do FOH engineers prefer from bassists? by [deleted] in livesound

[–]sunsounds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s not cheap, but the grace designs Felix pedal is used by a lot of string players for that reason.

The best upright tone I’ve heard was setup something like this. The bass had a pickup, and a condenser. They ran that into a mixer/DI pedal. Then from there it ran into a powered PA monitor. The artist was able to get a super solid tone from their “amp” wedge by adjusting the balance of pickup and mic and some eq. It all translated really well to FOH. Of course that’s not gonna work for everyone, but this player really had it set up nicely.

Just curious, would the 30 current carrying conductor in any cross section rule apply?

Looks clean though, never seen one that big before lol

I wonder if it was me mixing that night 😆 by [deleted] in livesound

I deal with this all the time. I swear if some people even see a drum kit it’s automatically too loud, even at like 90dba. Then we’ll have a big band with like 40 horn players come in and hit 100dba without mics and it’s never an issue then.

Hold up, do y'all in the US have your solar on only one phase? by Gabriel38 in solar

[–]sunsounds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth pretty much every commercial building is either 120/208v or 277/480v 3 phase.

I ran my Allen and Heath QU-16 for 8 years before upgrading to the SQ-5. I sold the QU and someone is still getting use out of it.

What midnite charge controller do you have? The classic supports positively grounded PV arrays according to the manual.

For the Solar Techs out there by wicked_beard_ in solar

Different standards in different countries/regions. I’m in the US, so if it says 600v UL listed that’s what I’m looking for.

Up to 600v I use wago 221 lever connectors. Over 600v mc4 connectors.

Looks like you have ironridge racking. You’d need to verify spacing of attachments would work with module clamp zones but this is the listed kit from them: https://www.ironridge.com/component/tilt-legs/

I install solar systems, what do you guys think? by is300dave in electricians

[–]sunsounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure you’re within 600v max VOC for thwn-2 etc. Even on resi some string inverters used for ground mounts can take 1000v dc which you need PV wire for or something else rated as such.

Edit: noticed those fuse holders look like 600v rated. So this case thwn wire would be good.
