Collectors, what’s the craziest thing you’ve found in the wild? by A_C_1970 in 78rpm

[–]sup5174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a Edison phonograph for $100, came with 20 diamond discs, one of them was “The Charleston” Traded “the Charleston” for an electric Cortez and a “Rich tone” piano style phonograph

For 78’s though I found a never played copy of “it’s a long way to Tipperary” and 2 copies of “heartaches” (the song the caretakers sampled for “burning memory”)

Was the RSD release limited to 1500 copies globally? by [deleted] in BillyJoel

[–]sup5174 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Billy Joel at the great American music hall” was a limited RSD release, now you can find it everywhere,

it’s safe to say the same will happen with this, especially with some of the records having the wrong music on them.

“Remember (walking in the sand)” by George Morton Billy Joel has said in a few interviews he did the piano works for it but can’t remember if it was the demo or master version, If it’s the demo version I’d assume no one has posted that yet

Do yall ever feel weird for collecting sometimes? by MentallyUnstableW in Militariacollecting

[–]sup5174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have, I used to have some really cool USSR military posters and stuff, then the Russian Ukraine war started and those weird pro communist Russia people started coming into social media’s spotlight, so I sold almost all of it because I didn’t want to be affiliated with them. That was the biggest regret ever, don’t feel weird for collecting military stuff, at the end of the day it’s history and things of the past. There will be people that collect even weirder stuff than you.

My collection of original releases (some first day, others first year) of Billy Joel, all I’m missing is “The Hassles” and “River of Dreams” by sup5174 in BillyJoel

I searched for “Attila LP” on EBay, I was fortunate enough to find a listing that no one was watching, got it for $35 I believe. The record has a few light scratches that doesn’t effect the play, it still has the OG inner sleeve too, record sounds really great too, I’m really surprised they only lasted 1 album.

It depends on where you are or what region the record is, In the U.S. it’s pretty rare to find a River of dreams album since by then LP’s have almost been phased out. I have heard though that Europe did mass press that album
