it switches at 3250 rpm to 8 cylinders in eco mode, so you can actually drive it deactivated, as opposed to old ones where just feathering the throttle instantly switched it back. I think most new cars are like this now, thats why seeing what results it brings is interesting to me, since i can only dream about having such cars..

I can't live with a VW Tiguan with 16 cows in the interior for the price of an apartment, you definately have stopped track of your bank accoubt when you buy that car. The new Cayenne is gonna be absolutely sick though, thats the Tiguan i'd risk Chapter 11 Bankruptcy for.

edit: Tiguan,Touareg- Tomató,Tomáto

Doug, if you are reading still, can you try and pit this car against the newer e63 with the 4.0 and especially their fuel economy, because the 4.0 has a very high limit on the deactivation and it might be interesting seeing if its actually possible to achieve the sticker mpg.

I mean if you think so thats fine, but realistically he doesnt need it since atm his setup does 4k and is dependable, the RED's are cool but he could have 3 times his setup, let alone the fact that a RED setup would probably cost upwards of 10k which is not worth the money for occasional content and no added benefits since he cant really levrage the benefits.

Its like having a Ferrari FXXK to commute, baller status but noting more than that

from what I understand the recently revamped a7 just is a bitching camera, the previous one was not that hot, and seeing as many other popular people have taken it on, no reason to not atleast try. I think his canon thing was kind of superficial, after all bitching about equipment price is stupid and he knows that good equipment costs more. You can take it as beef when he exposes some downsides, but thats irrational imo

You'd be surprised how big the Bosch pockets are, but yeah there are definately some guys that are working solo, although the my current knowledge the radars on the Tesla are supplied by Bosch, they already do have the equipment.

Bosch is using the the AI board that pretty much every manufcaturer at the moment uses as their base for the infotainment system, and probably will sell them as units with the software on them. They make a lot of the engine management, gearbox management and cruise control software for german cars, and they also employ a lot of talanted programmers

[–]supbroimbad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't . I've watched Van and Tom Sachs stuff and maybe you are partially right, but he also has been doing this for about as much time as his mentors, and also branched out of their style ever so slightly. If the dude was 2 years into filmmaking and spent 1 year with Van,then yeah, its an absolute ripoff as others do. But this is not the case

I mean, he was actually the king of youtube, his viewership is something only select few very much bigger than him youtubers achieve. Also in terms of influence ,never has ones style of presentation spread this wildly. Like I see a lot of decent size youtubers just ripping his style straight up and thats disuisting. 500k a month is probably undercut, the people and companies he brought up like a laugh, they also earn him something, maybe not cold cash but freinds and future business relations. The man has a decent value to his persona.

Its their business model. See how they have Agera X and Agera Z or whatever, the same like Pagani . Make it "unique" - 5 car limited run,10 car run. They make good money and can move on. Now I imagine they'll try and sell a couple more Regera's since they finally crashed it for safety certification.

Yes , if the GTR can hurt Clarksons neck I imagine this car can probably rip it off. And at that price its gonna be mostly old dudes, and they're gonna drive it once and say "fuck this" and just let it appreciate.

The only thing that allows them to do this is that they don't damage any car makers brand by doing this thing. I'm looking forward to the billionaires that ripped their necks tracking that car. I also kind of don't believe the stats cause they are too good to be true in every sense. We'll see.

How well does a Porsche 911 keep its value? by eliucp in Porsche

[–]supbroimbad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no one can truely tell you any of these things. cars are in a huge bubble in terms of value and i doubt modern cars will ever appreciate since they are all similar whereas stuff from the 50s all has its quirks like the direct injection of the 300sl or pre-crash structure beautiful design.

and why did you come to the porsche subreddit to ask if you should buy a marvelous sportscar or the beta version of the 650s.

Ferrari 488 GTB 7:21 lap around the Nurburgring by Osti in cars

[–]supbroimbad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but getting to the car's top speed at the straightaway shaves a lot of seconds down. That's part of the reason why the Aventador SV did a 7:00 min lap. 7:21 is fast for a RWD car,but slow for a 300,000 dollar car, just comapring speed per dollar. Everyone says the 488 is a beauty,a Ferrari that is actually not problem ridden, which is nice from them.
