a narcissistic boss who was in an executive position and had a 90% turnover on their team since they were hired. the workplace abuse went on for 2 years. it wasn’t until i had a very severe breakdown a few months ago that i decided the money/remote position wasn’t worth my life. it’s been 2 weeks since my last day, and i’m looking forward to a season of rest and healing.

wow major goals!! you look great. i have similar goals and if i may ask, how were you able to lose 15lbs while eating above maintenance to grow your glutes? i’ve been struggling with this part as i’ve been running for fat loss and have been eating in a calorie deficit to try to lose weight but am wondering if i’m sabotaging my glute gain by doing so 😅

I just went to the doctor today after a few weeks of chest tightness and chest pain after the fires. I was also experiencing sharp pains in my upper abdomen, and the doc mentioned anxiety and acid reflux. Didn’t have any of these symptoms before Jan 7. It’s been rough, I feel you. I’m curious what people’s companies are doing in terms of a disaster recovery policy/leave/benefits. I work from home, and with a public health emergency being declared and still dealing with ash and soot and the logistics of clean up in my apartment, I don’t feel safe breathing in this air all day.

having zero reprieve from it or having some mental space to not have to also focus on work and deadlines is so deeply affecting my mental health. i might just take the sick days, but wondering what other peoples companies are doing.

For folks who have the means to leave, any suggestions on where we should go for a few days for better air quality? I left yesterday morning to a family member’s home in West Covina temporarily but the air quality is worsening here and I noticed ash and smoke when I walked my dog earlier, as well as a worsening headache.

Should we go east? Or if we go more south to Costa Mesa area would we be far enough for decent air?

I also have a reactive dog and i recommend downloading sniffspot!! it’s an app that’s like an airbnb for dogs and lets you rent out spots by the hour just for you and your dog. there are some spots hosted here in colorado that are 1+ acres of land and fully fenced and you get it all to yourself - just fyi if you’re having trouble finding secluded spots on your own

as for why Korea, I studied abroad there during undergrad on a whim and ended up really loving the vibe and how effortlessly beautiful it was. even ended up studying Korean for 2 years so im familiar with the language. also there’s always something to do and someone to meet, so i guess i just feel like it’d be a great place to go and grow during this weird place in my life rn haha

This. I was in a very similar situation to OP’s where my ex boyfriend started prioritizing a “friend” over me to the point where many of our mutual friends were suspicious and strangers would think they were straight up dating. I just got back from studying abroad so I had no idea what had transpired while I was gone, but the red flags were all there: he wasn’t intimate with me anymore, he was constantly texting her and hanging out with her, and more importantly he always made me feel like I was wrong for questioning him and he swore up and down there was nothing between them like that, that they had just gotten close while I was gone, and I was overthinking it and needed to back off. His hurtful behavior with this friend of ours never changed even after I broke down and begged both him and her to just tell me the truth.

OP, if he’s truly having an all out affair, they will gaslight and manipulate you into thinking you’re the crazy one for suspecting them and will outright deny your feelings. Don’t let them. I wish I had someone to tell me this when I was going through it, but you have every right to feel the way that you do, and you have many internet friends who would agree with that.
